If Browns miss the last FG, everybody here is singing a different tune....

You mean if we had even iced the kicker? Ya. Can’t fix Rhule.

Hypothetically , if we iced him and he had gotten a kick off while we called time out and missed it. Then the ensuing play he proceeds to make the field goal. Do you think everyone would be angry for attempting to ice the kicker ?

Honest question. This kept me up last night thinking about it.

I think you ice them ya. Before they get the snap off. That way they don’t get a chance to adjust. At least it’s trying, even if it fails. You get in their head, in theory at least.

I would not. To even be close to a Browns team lead by the backup QB at home and pull a rabbit out of a hat after sucking for three straight quarters it is nothing to jump for Joy about. It would have been a typical Rhule win, where he only gets wins against terrible teams. That did not happen however, and we lost one of the easier games on our schedule this year while continuing to make an absolute joke of our “home field  advantage”.

" a typical Rhule win". Oxymoron.

I have watched a replay of the game twice now (thanks NFL+) and man….. we had 2 pass plays drawn up there at the end before the field goal. That damn bobbled snap…. We would have had both shi open and CMC 1v1 against the safety. Damn it.

the 3rd down we had an RPO drawn up but the browns triple teamed Moore.

The part I don't get, is why CMC up the gut on the next down.  I get the fumbled snap blew things up. But surely there could have been another run that would have had a better chance for more yards to set up  shot for first down.

Did the Baker and offense struggle for almost 3 quarters, yes.

Did the team struggle stopping the run and tackling for more than a half, yes.

Has CMC played at all this preseason? No.

Did they put all it together and almost win it, yes.

Missed FG and its bright spots and sunshine instead of gloom and doom.

Game 1. Let's see how they respond in NY.

But I will say the fans at the stadium were bringing the noise when it was needed.

As bad as the offense was for most of the game, that defense looked horrible yesterday.  Even if we would have won yesterday, in the grand scheme, we don't look like a good team this year.  Overhaul, overhaul, overhaul!!!

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
