Week 1 Chubb vs Barkley rush Charts

Barkley isn't really the same as Chubb though. I think he may be a back where quickness on defense might be an advantage. Idk looking for something positive to say. Any hope I had for this year is diminishing. Football is much less interesting when the outcome is determined by week 2.

To be honest, I feel like we just couldn't bring his big ass down. We really have a problem wrapping up. If it wasnt a one arm tackle we completely whiffed on more than a few occasions. I'd be interested in finding out how many yards after contact he ended up with.

I remember having this same mind frame after playing Kamara his first year. We did end up stopping him the next game but the roster was vastly different ...

Silver lining is, it's only week 1 and everything we have issues with is correctable. We have the talent but can we put it together.

Brandon Smith, please help us

He looked good in the preseason but his draft knocks were-

NEGATIVES

— Physicality comes and goes; too often does not play downhill with enough of a temper.

— Below-average technique taking on blocks. Low, slow hands. Throws his shoulder when he shouldn't.

— Below-average tackler. Too often tries to hit rather than wrap up.

— Plays high. Leads to issues with settling down to tackle or change directions.

Both get up to speed in a hurry.  Both can take any play to the house.  Barkley was clocked at 21.91 mph on a 78 yd TD against the Redskins in 2018.  Chubb was clocked at 21.95 mph on an 88 yd TD against Baltimore in 2019.  That puts them on par with McCaffrey's 21.95 mph on an 84 yd TD run against Jacksonville in 2020.   Which makes for pretty exciting football.  In the first 2 games you get to watch 3 of the top 5 RBs in the NFL.  I wouldn't be surprised to see any of the three in the HOF one day.

    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
    • In fairness, she is ensuring she is talked about.  People really aren’t going out there way to bring her up.  It’s some weird poo.  She would end up getting talked about given her actions if she was 40. Bill realizing some of these high end “companions” got a game of their own.  That’s what I don’t think Bill saw coming.
