Can we officially declare TMJ a bust?

He got a lot last year and produced nothing.

Maybe he is just not an NFL player or maybe he isn't getting a fair shake by the coaching staff.

To me there isn't any difference. May as well trade him and try to get some value back.

Maybe they have decided he can’t improve for whatever reason, but who is going to trade for this guy right now?  His trade value is extremely low IMO

I think actually he has a lot of promise. My theory is that Joe Brady pounded the table for him and Fitt agreed but he wasn't one of "Rhule's guys". Therefore Rhule has him in the doghouse but Fitt won't move on from him.

I think a regime change might be what he needs

Yeah but he also wasn't good with Brady either.

Its hard to evaluate anyone with this incompetent staff and Rhule disregarding anyone that isnt his guy.

I agree wholeheartedly with this but at the same time TMJ has repeatedly been hot in camp and unable to get himself a jersey on gamedays. He's a bust. Our trend with 2nd round picks continues even without Hurney. And this nonsense about him being a Joe Brady pick I'll pour cold water on all that mess. Matt Rhule is the boss hogg this is his failure.

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
