Locks: Horn, Chinn, Ickey, BC, Corbett, Moore

Near locks: Moton, Mays, D-Jax, Corral, Brandon Smith, Luvu, McCall, Barno

Post season cap dumps now/immediate future: CMC, Shaq, Robbie and Burns (not keep nor re-sign)

That's 7 core players on each side of the ball to build around.  That's actually not too bad.  Our OL will continue to get better.  Unfortunately, the most important offensive position, QB, still will be a huge question mark and our DL will be very young and thin on experience.

well I’m the minority - financials aside, icky, horn, moton, chinn

everyone else is replaceable and not worth keeping imo

moore is close and I know financially he stays but I don’t think he can’t be easily replaced

i think the talent of this team is overrated on this forum, though I do agree the talent should easily garner more than 5 wins

In a rebuild, you can't burn it all the way to the ground.  I get who those 'core' players are, but then then you have to identify the next tier of guys, while not 'untouchable' will be the other essential cogs in the rebuilding process.

Starters: Moton, Corbett, Bozeman, Ickey (OG), BC (LT), CMC, DJ (#2 WR), McCall, Barno, Shaq (SLB), Chinn (In-The-Box SS ala Polamalu)

Specialists: Burns (pass rush), Luvu (pass), Horn (Nickle), CJ (Dime), Brown (pass rush DT / 34 DE), Jansen LS, Hekker P.

Developmental: Mays, Ricci, Brandon Smith

I'd replace the rest of the roster leaving 22 roster spots to fill. Thanks Fitterer!

for the right offer there are very few players I wouldn't trade, given realistic trade value (i.e. no one is giving up two first rounders for DJ) I'd say we should keep:

Offense- Ickey, Moton, DJ

Defense- Burns, Horn, Chinn

You could pretty much talk me into trading everyone else on the team, including CMC

It's still too early in the season to make this kind of determination. But you have to look at the kids on the Dline, Woods is pretty cheap. Maybe Corbett and Bozeman.

I want an Oline for my next QB. But like I said. It's still early. Let's see what some of these guys do this year.

Yeah all the people naming our current second or close to second contract stars as locks to keep don’t understand what a rebuild is

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
