Unless you can get multiple picks for each, trading Moore and CMC would be pointless and dumb.

thats a huge difference in NFL years. That's when players make the biggest impact and get their third contract.

Not for RBs. I just went back like 5 years and looked at top 5 or so rushing leaders for each year, they’re all under 27 (the site I was looking at was giving current age not age at the time of the stat so I can’t be much more specific than that.)

CMC is 4 years from 30... I dont know why you are choosing to die on a hill that he is old. He is one year older than DJ.  He is younger than Dalvin Cook, Zeke, Hunt, Nick Chubb, and Alvin Kamara.

I said in 2 years, which is at least how far away we probably are from competing, if not more. The point was to trade him now BEFORE he got to that point. I’m not dying on a hill that he is old 😂

There is absolutely no sense in trading DJ. CMC only if he can get us GOOD assets. He’s too valuable to us to offload for a mere 2nd or less. Even on the pessimistic side and he only has a couple good years left, two years of CMC is far better for us than five years of whatever they get in the second round beyond lucking into some star. Realistically you get a maybe decent starter in the second, not a star.

I can't see any team giving up a #1 for CMAC before the trading deadline. If he has a productive year and proves he can play in a majority of the games I could see a contending team possibly parting with a round one choice if they're drafting at the end of the first round (picks 26-32). Those choices are usually for playoff teams and a player like Christian could be the missing piece to put someone over the top. The choice available to a team in that area of the draft is likely to be less productive than CMAC. The only big issue is the cap hit. Can they absorb the big salary w/out going over the cap?

Then, we need to ask ourselves will the player will get lessen the impact of the loss of CMAC. In most cases I'd venture to say no.

I like both players a lot but I would trade either for a first round or a high 2nd round IF they could make it work with cap numbers and free up money to spread around to get more players in free agency.

CMC is always hurt and running back is one of the easiest spots to replace.  I understand Moore has had awful QB play but I don’t see him as some superstar WR either.  I can’t think of a single game that’s he’s ever taken over and he averages four TD’s a season.

I can tell u from experience, this argument never goes over well here. I’ve tried to objectively state similar things and have been met with a lot of bias.

I will say tho that his contract is solid and if we drafted a QB, we can’t set him up to fail by giving him zero receivers.

You could realistically expect a 2nd and a 5 for Moore and a 4th or something in that ballpark. How many teams want to trade for WRs right now though? The only standouts are Greenbay and Chicago. Green Bay is a WR from being a playoff team and Chicago needs Mooney to go back to being a 2 and it would give Justin Fields 2 NFL caliber WRs.

Texans could be another team with picks to give but then it’s a money issue for them.

Ridiculous. devonte adams and Tyreek Hill set the compensation market for wr trades at 2 first round picks and change. Moore would Garner that easily as his stats compare and he is cheaper contractually than both of those.

Devonte Adams and Tyreek Hill are in a class above DJ Moore. Like in 2022 alone Adams has 5 TDS already. That’s more than DJ has had in any one season. Hills lowest scoring total was 6 tds as a rookie. DJ has never had more than 4 in a year.

Scoring outweighs yardage totals. Adams is a red zone threat who can gut people deep. Hill is a game wrecker. DJ Moore isn’t on that level yet.
