In regards to McCall I think you are way off.  His accuracy and ability to throw off platform is top notch.  The knock that I have before the season is he didnt have the strength to push the ball downfield but they are doing that in the games I have watched.  Will be interesting once the dust settles on what the scouts think.

I still stand by my theory that the new staff will pick richardson around pick 5

What you also have to mention with McCall is his moxie, the kid just seems to have the IT factor if you ever watch him.  He basically wills his team to wins.  Yes, you can say they play lesser competition, but that same competition has beaten power 5 schools on the regular lately and to add to that, he is playing with players that don't have the talent of an Ohio St, Clemson, Alabama, etc.  So, he is doing all this, because he is GOOD, not because he has NFL talent at every position around him.  I'm sold on McCall, would not be mad at all if we traded back, picked up some draft capital and picked him up.

The hype of this draft class leaves me with the feeling it could be empty hype.... there are more knocks than promotions of these potential top 3 QBs.

Levis yes, but if a team doesn't mind Bryce's height, he's got all the tools in the world.  Absolutely love that kid's game.  For every Baker/Johnny/Kyler, there's a Brees/Frank (and dare I say Jalen?)

CJ, the OSU stain scares me more than height lol

Jalen is built like a rock though. Bryce Young is going to destroyed when he gets hit in this league. Bryce Young is nowhere near what his measurables state on ESPN.com (6' 194)... Id think he is more 5'11 170. Its terrfying how small he is.

This is a photo of him with Tyler Harrell who is listd to be the exact same height and size as Young.....
Bryce Young, Alabama, Quarterback

Hendon Hooker

6'4 218 Tennessee (5-yr Hokie transfer), will be 25 y/o on draft day

Here's the latest bretheren to boom out of nowhere this season.  Always looked the part at VT but that team and program did him no favors.  Now a Volunteer, he is rocking this season.  Not being asked to do a ton that is asked of NFL QBs, a bit watered down system but he is dynamic.  He straight up willed the team to the PITT win and has been dominating teams ever since.  He's risen to a near 1st rounder but with his age, he needs to be ready to rock year 1.  He's only a few months younger than Sam Darnold lol.

Sax Take: Round 1-Top of Round 2

We need to watch this week's game.  Tennessee plays Alabama in Knoxville.  I've seen spots of their games and he looks good.   I am sure his stock will rise quite a bit if he plays well this weekend.

5'10 180lbs and a top 5 pick is a recipe for disaster.  You would have to have big brass balls as a gm to saddle yourself and your job on to that

That's my concern too.  His injury a couple of weeks ago was a simple play.  He didn't get destroyed by a defender and still hurt himself.   When, not if, he gets sacked by one of these great DE in the league he's going to get crushed.   No matter how good he may be if he's on the sideline recovering from injury it doesn't help your team much.

    • After listening to Morgan's presser twice, I came away with some key beliefs. First of all, I don't think he's a bullshitter. What you see is what you get. When he says something, he means it.  The Teppers really have evolved as owners. Morgan has mentioned how they're easy to work with--a pleasure to work with a few times now. There seems to be a good relationship between all of them (and include Dave Canales on that). We'll see if it lasts. Yes, no one wanted to come to Carolina with the previous management, but that seems to have changed. The team signed arguably the top Edge, LB and OT on the market, two of them on pretty good deals and one on what I'll say is "not a bad one." And, credit Sunshine Dave "Flowers and Cotton Candy" Canales for helping to change the culture. Morgan mentioned getting guys--and I'm paraphrasing--that are not only great football players but great people. Don't look for us to be acquiring any James Pearce types anytime soon, just saying. We'll see if that holds true in the future. Dan Morgan really has set up the Panthers to take the BPA/BAP. He mentioned it at least a couple of times, and he doesn't seem pressured to pinpoint a particular position. He just wants quality players that will help the team. This is how it's going to be (to your joy or dismay, probably for as long as he's here), and personally I love it. Many of us know how Morgan was when he played: aggressive! That's what he's going to be when making acquisitions. He explicitly said it, and emphasized it. All avenues are open (think FA, waivers...the draft)! Personally, as long as it's controlled aggression and not reckless aggression, I love it.  On KP: "Mobility is big in this league."  He basically says if another QB is the BPA while drafting--we're going by our board, people--we're going to add them.        ...
    • Canes are so fascinating. Despite inconsistent defense and poor goalie play they keep winning.
    • I like Morgan's approach but I'll wait for a few winning seasons before giving too much praise.
