I was on the tank bandwagon, but after looking more further, I say we just roll with Corral and draft BPA.

I don't care if we are top 1 or top 21, we better choose a QB. If Wilks or any coach that gets hired this year wants to succeed they know that winning at that position is the top priority.

Stroud, Young, Levi's, Ward, Hooker, Richardson... I garuantee one of them will be on this roster next year.

Will Anderson is BPA.

who cares

you don’t conduct drafts based on “BPA”

that’s generic Internet forum talk for people who gobble down NFLisms and think that by repeating them outward they project themselves as intellectuals

”BPA” is the assignment of value relative to need

it always is, for every team. An undersized Defensive end isnt jumpstarting the panthers offense and making them super bowl contenders

the team has seen first hand how hard it is to get a top 3 pick. If they end up with one, they’re going to take a QB.

join us back in reality land.

I have to admit, I was told this QB class was amazing, but truth be told I don’t see a clear Andrew Luck or Cam Newton. Bryce Young, smaller than Baker, pass. Will Levis, high upside but very questionable in clutch or high pressure moments.

CJ Stroud, his numbers look great but so did Justin Fields and Fields has looked awful. I have to be honest, I look at Corral and I look at this QB class, and the more I look the more I say we just roll with Corral next season and just draft BPA.

Agreed.

The timing of that trade said a LOT IMO. The rumors cranked up hot and heavy following rookie mini-camp. I think the staff saw with their own eyes this guy was NOT playing as a rookie so unless they wanted to rely on Darnold and PJ they better do something. Anything.

idk if it mattered, rhule wanted a veteran to save his job

the mayfield trade was always dumb regardless of the cost.

with corral playing you could evaluate in what was always going to be a down season.

if he played well, great, if he played poorly, then as a mid round rookie he would likely play very poorly and would secure a top pick.

instead he got no work during camp, looked completely unprepared the moment he hit the field and was ultimately hurt behind the 3rd string offensive line.

His chance with the panthers more or less ended when they decided to give rhule his one last chance. Hope the guy gets another opportunity elsewhere.

There was no Andrew Luck or Cam Newton in the classes that Allen, Mahomes and Jackson were drafted either, yet those guys run the league. You have to shoot your shot.

I understand the whole “Ohio State QB… Ewww…” thing but Stroud has looked much better than Fields as a college prospect IMO

To be clear, I don't think we should tank for that guy, but what I do think is we do whatever it takes to get him. Remember, the Chiefs traded up for Mahomes, the ravens traded up to get Jackson, the Bills traded up to get Allen. If your guy is there, go get him.

I'm still all in on the tank.  We need a qb first and foremost.   While its definitely true the first pick doesnt gurantee a good qb it is 100% the best odds for the Panthers right now.  If you have the first pick you can pick any QB in the draft.   Which means if they pick a qb and they bust and another one succeeds, they just missed on the pick.  It was there to make.  Gotta trust the scouts and GM.  It's all in their hands.

I think it's funny that their stats are near identical minus the amount of actually air yards.

    • It's just a talking head.  Talking about gambling. If anybody takes the under on 4.5 wins, they're most likely losing their money.   So he's only saying if you want to bet on a possible sleeper, take the over.  It's not rocket science.  Pathetic that so many on the huddle have reduced themselves to posting purely trash every time they hit the submit button.
    • I mean I think the best case scenario has to hit for the Panthers and everyone else in the NFCS has to hit their worst case scenario.  Personally, I think this is the year that NO finally collapses and I think they finish 4th in the division regardless.  ATL is overrated but still likely a 6-9 win team. TB plays tough football, their defense will be there but their success depends on the offense, they too are a 6-9 win team.  The Panthers are probably 4-6 wins at best. If they find some sort of momentum during the season and get 7-8 wins, and TB and ATL struggle then maybe but I find it very unlikely.
    • We screwed up a couple years ago taking Bryce in the first place.  Nobody held a gun to our head to jump from #9 to #1.  Most people who keep up with draft news knew this 2024 QB class was loaded and we should have waited, which I advocated. It was a dumb move and I knew it.  Now we have to roll with Bryce another year.  That's fine, because this 2025 class isn't that great.  I like Ewers, but not super high on him.  If Bryce shows improvement, which I think he will, that should get him at least one more season before we have to decide on if he's the permanent answer or not.  I've said before, the 2026 draft is the next window for a franchise QB if Bryce isn't the answer. Bryce gets this year and next at a minimum.
