    • Hell, even Allen himself hasn't proven he's got it all just yet. Bottom line though, shooting for the next Josh Allen / Cam Newton all too frequently nets you the next Anthony Richardson / Trey Lance.
    • The whole "draft a QB savant with no NFL measurables" argument is also on the rocks at the moment. You need a little bit of this, little bit of that to make it work. Meanwhile, last year's MVP was a "draft an athlete and teach him how to be a QB" guy.
    • The whole "take the phenomenal athlete and teach him to be a quarterback" model is just something I've never believed in. They have to have the quarterback skills first. If they're also a great athlete, that's gravy. But The idea that you can turn a lousy passer / processor into a pro quarterback is just fallacy.
