Which further proves my point that OSU has no interest in leaning on or producing pro style talent.  They take athletes, put them at QB, and let them dominate the slower, less athletic talent in the Big 10.  If the Panthers get to play Iowa, Indiana and Purdue every week I'm all for drafting CJ Stroud.

You say this when its clear they are producing CJ Stroud to be a QB and not an athlete. And that isn't why Burrow left either. So it doesn't really prove your point at all.

You don’t think LSU’s all NFL roster outclassed their competition?

He had a slow start/seemed a bit off but he responded and showed in the second half. Really don’t understand the pushback here at all.

Threads needles and is super quick with his progressions. I don’t see any red flags like you typically do with others. The OSU offense definitely handicaps QBs but you have to be able to see through it.  Fields was for example a way slow processor and has a 1 second mental delay after the snap and it showed in school. It’s also why many NFL scouting rooms stayed away from him. Simply not the case with Stroud.

There have been 4 1st round OSU QBs drafted. One in the 1940s who died in war before playing, one in the 1980s, then Haskins, and Fields who is in year 2. So you are basing this on Haskins and the guy from the 80s?? Terrible logic.

Oregon has Harrington and Mariotta, and I bet they are thrilled someone like you didn’t have them pass on Herbert because there were no good Oregon QBs. Do it again for LSU with Burrow, Mahomes with Texas Tech, Cam with Auburn, Manning with Tennessee and you can keep going on and on. So like I said, terrible logic. The school has nothing to do with the prospect.

Are you really comparing Stroud to Herbert?

The problem with Stroud is he is actually less gifted than Justin Fields and he's throwing to more 1st round wide receivers than we have here behind an offensive line that, within the context of the Game, is better than what we have.

Stroud, like Hooker, plays within a system that excentuates what they do well which does not translate well to the pro game as we saw with Haskins and now Fields.

You have to look at what the guys do well. I'd rather have Bryce Young at number 1 if that was an option.

Stroud and Levis look like Day 2 picks to me. So if I have to take a QB on Day 2 or Day 3, I want McCall because he will probably be there. I don't want us to reach for a Stroud or Levis and set out team back even more.

2023 needs to be the ultimate BPA draft.

You are complaining about Stroud’s system and want McCall or Hartman. It’s just a complete joke at this time. No one is taking you seriously anymore man. Go back to bragging about wanting Neal over Icky…

How did it age… saying he has a decent test ahead of him when Iowa was 7th in total defense coming into the game is a factual statement…. There wasn’t a single thing stated that was opinion based.

If anything, the factual statement shows how good Stroud can be… which I’m fine with because I’m a Stroud supporter…

I swear some of the people that quote me don’t have basic reading comprehension skills.

Calm down with the victim complex.

it aged because Iowa’s defense got absolutely torched.

but go ahead and cry if that makes you feel better.

I didn't say I fuging WANTED HARTMAN. I said if I had to choose between taking Stroud first or Hartman later, give me Hartman later.

McCall isn't a system QB. Yall say he's a triple option QB but he threw for 400 yards and 3 or 4 touchdowns a week ago. He broke Tua's passer efficiency record. McCall is Coastal's offense whereas Hooker and Stroud are a product of theirs. You put McCall in an Ohio State uniform and it would be about the same as Stroud.

The point is that much like the 2022 draft, there are no QB's worthy of a Top 5, or even 10 pick. You don't reach for a QB at one. There is no Trevor Lawrence, Cam Newton, Mahomes, etc. type of guys. Maybe you take Bo Nix on Day 3? But you don't take Stroud at one, sorry. That's a reach.

You go Best Player Available all draft.

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
