New strat next year: give Lamar Jackson the biggest contract in NFL history

Lamar would hold out if that's the case. Pointless for the Ravens. If need be I would trade the first, he's younger than Burrow.

Bro there is absolutely no way he isn't getting tagged.  Lamar Jackson is not hitting free agency.  If you think he is then you are delusional.  Even IF Jackson said he wouldn't play on the tag, Ravens would still tag him and then try to work out a trade

But there is NO scenario where Jackson hits the open market.  I will bet you my last dollar on that.

How bout we stop looking for the football version of a "get rich quick" scheme and just try to do it right?

It’s hard when the team refuses to completely blow it up. If this team ends up picking in the teens there’s not a whole lot of options for the Panthers at QB.

The Panthers are closely becoming the Hornets of the NFL, constantly mediocre.

    • Horn is made to be a press man CB no doubt.  He claimed we don't have the personnel (talent) to play straight up man.
    • Not when said QB is Josh Allen, it would be like when Andy Reid retires in the next few years and KC making the hire without involving Mahomes in the discussion at all. When you have a QB like they, they 100% should be involved in the discussions to make sure there is alignment and the QB/HC will mesh well together.  I'm sure they didn't just let him make the decision as that would be dumb, but it would be even dumber to have not involved him in the process at all.
    • The press conference was ugly and would make any coach a little concerned about working for said owner. But HC jobs for the team with the best QB in the league in the middle of his prime don't come around too often.  I think every candidate would be able to look past the owner in this situation to get a chance at having Allen's prime years to chase a ring. I still think if they lose in the first round and thus fired McDermott a week earlier, Harbaugh very likely would have been their next HC, but this all happened after he was already lined up with the Giants.
