Why people act like Moton the better tackle can't also be or mentor?

Erving can go, it was a fluff piece, get what you can and add some draft ammo.

He's gone as a cap casualty anyway in the off-season.

He’s a free agent after this season

If anyone is willing to take him he should be shipped off immediately

Hence why someone like Alex Van Pelt can be a good coach. Steve Smith? Not so much 😕

Great players becoming great coaches are a rarity indeed. Cam Erving is well past his prime as a player but he's a long time starting NFL LT so I'm sure he has a wealth of information and experience to share.

I think Greg Olsen could do it but I get the sense he'd rather do what he's already doing.

Our OL coach seems to be doing fine and I very seriously doubt we could get a 5th. I'm thinking more along the lines of a conditional 7th. He has very little value.

Yes he does seem to be doing fine which to my way of thinking says  we don't need a mentor we need to stockpile picks especially for guys that won't be here next season anyway.

I'd take a strong veteran mentor for our top 10 pick rookie LT over a conditional late round pick. What are we gonna do, draft another long snapper?

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
