You cannot win in the NFL perpetually afraid that your QB is going to throw a pick.  Pinerio missed more kicks in  that game than PJ threw picks.

Sheesh.

It was in OT on the 15 yard line and they had already had their possession.  There is an insanely high percent chance that a NFL kicker makes that kick.  It's the right call and it would have ended the game.  We just fell short against the odds.  I've seen PLENTY of great QBs in that same situation where they are setting up the FG (Burrow comes to mind this year).  I get being upset we loss but setting up the OT game winning FG on the 15 yard line is NOT a bad strategy.

He is a 88% FG kicker.  That is actually the first FG he missed from that range in his career.

Scored 34 points (tie, only once before)

Come from behind to take a team to OT on the road (never)

Got in a second half shootout.  (Rare if ever)

Team didn't fold after conceding a late score (Rare, if ever)

*Same team, but I can see a difference.

Meh, except for the OT, we've seen this show before.

The near hail-mary to DJ was exciting.

The rest was Panthers.

We out-choked the Falcons today.

That's new.

Over the last 5-6 years, Gano has been one of the most clutch kickers in the NFL.   He hasn't missed an extra point since 2020.  In the last three years, he has hit 19 of 24 fg's of 50 yards plus.  Next to Tucker, he might be the best fg kicker in the league.

But he wasn’t doing that for us. He needed to get cut to get better. He wasn’t a reliable clutch kicker. Kasay is the standard, Gano does not compare.

So you would rather lose and score more points?  WTF?

When the offense has been THIS anemic for such a long time?  It's a step in the right direction.  Look Matt, take your millions stop sucking off the Panthers hind tit.  I guess winning 5 games a year is a feat by holding teams under 17 points is worth beating your chest over, but finally showing a pulse on offense and the defense having an uncharacteristic off game is something I'm okay with.

Brian Burns: more like the Invisible Woman than Spider Man.

Lots of talk about PJ, the Defense, DJ, DJ's helmet, and Pinero. I'm focused on Brian Burns with 0 sacks and 0 TFLs in the most important game of the season so far. I think hes more like Frankie Luvu (good player who makes some great plays) than a star DE.

Just a few thoughts. I have many times seen a heartbreaking losses for my team. It’s very hard to watch a team fight claw and scratch for a win, only to have the other team come back and boom they win the game.

However, this team damn near won this game. They were in this game until the very very end. If the coaches name was still Rhulezie, I doubt very seriously they would’ve been anywhere near being able to win.

The Falcons are obviously, a much improved team. But I think the Panthers are much improved as well.

    • He just had his 5th year option picked up, I think we are still digging the hole. As far as DJ Moore, fools. How many picks did we waste chasing a replacement? I count a second and two firsts being what that cost. And going without for two years.   I guess they traded him because you don’t need to spend as much on receivers with Bryce… or some such bullshit as they thought at the time.
    • I want to sign him so the excuse can be removed if (when) our offense looks mediocre again.  Supposedly TE is the lone weak spot in our offense.
    • Broadcast I agree with, he'd be a great color commentator, like the early days of Romo where he was constantly predicting what was about to happen, but I disagree with the pregame part for the same reason as my last post in here.  Pregame is about flash and hyping people up for the games, not granular level specific breakdown of film, which is what Luke does best.   I actually don't think he'd be very good in the pregame role because of that, it's not what he does best and he doesn't have that Gronk/Burleson/etc type of excitement in his presentation style that is needed for those pregame shows.   I almost think he'd actually be best suited to join the Manningcast for some games.  Having him and Peyton breakdown what they're seeing from each side of the ball on the same plays would actually be quite interesting to watch (although admittedly, he might be kinda boring when interviewing the guests there lol)
