Another Question.. How many QB’s do you think have a stronger arm then PJ..

And before anything.. No I’m not thinking of Pj being our future QB.. Just thinking a few things..

1. How many QB’s in this draft have a stronger  arm then PJ??

2. How many Qb’s in league have a stronger arm then PJ??

That Hail Mary was a precision drop in the bucket throw with 60+ yards of air time.. Not to many QB’s could do that..

And for sure no QB on this roster the last 3 years( other then Young Cam ) could make a throw like that..

I read somewhere that PJ’s pass went 67 yards in the air, the longest completed pass in the air in the Next Gen Stats era.

And it wasn’t a jump ball Hail Mary.. He drop that thing in the bucket of a WR being doubled covered.. That’s what makes it something special that not to many QB can do..

How many? One or two on this team. Mayfield has the longest recorded throw in NFL history (an incompletion) as well as like 2 or so top 5 of the longest completions. Darnold supposedly has a big arm, but he never throws deep so who knows.

I don't know if PJ's air yards beat out Mayfield's record, but maybe? I seem to recall it was 70+.

I get that people love Hail Mary's, but the only reason it even worked is because the Falcon's DB's stopped running allowing DJ to burst past them. And if he hadn't PJs throw would be late and possibly easily picked.

This should have been an easy win over that secondary (especially with Foreman crushing it) and not needed a hail mary to begin with.

I would imagine a considerable amount have stronger arms than PJ. Once you start digging into the depth charts you are gonna get some guys that have huge arms that don't see the field for a variety of reasons.

I don't know that many have really questioned PJ'S arm strength, so maybe that is the disconnect.

This is the answer.  It's not his arm strength that is the issue here.

I think that people really want to pump him up as some sort of savior.

We saw the same with the Heinickie, Allen, Teddy, Darnold and Baker Mayfield fanboys. Sometimes you are just such a fanboy that you have to make something to struggle against for no discernable reason.

It's weird but par for the course with Panthers fans. After that cringy hype machine with Kyle Allen I just roll my eyes now.

Marcus Mariota was the best QB on the field yesterday. Nothing more needs to be said.

Pretty much...

Arm strength is not that high on my list of priorities for a quarterback. It's not about being able to throw it far or being able to throw it hard, it's about being able to throw it to a spot.

yeah, but that only goes back to like 2016

I was wondering who could have done that and Vick comes to mind. Don't know if he ever connected though while in his prime. I seem to remember in his rookie year, he came off the bench against Carolina and threw a 50 yard TD pass across the field to a FB who leaked out.

Prime Culpepper to Moss probably could have done it as well. They were launching artillery back then.

We've seen the Teddy Bridgewater experiment firsthand and laughed as Brees failed year after year once his average at best arm strength wanted circa 2013. Have to have ample amounts of both.
