Brian Burns has more sacks than any other player in NFL history under 25 years old

Hopefully someone has already pointed out what a made up stat this is.  Using age as the marker is silly.  Look at seasons played.

By the end of his fourth season, Peppers had 40.5 sacks.

By the end of his fourth season, Reggie White had 70 sacks.

By the end of his fourth season, JJ Watt had 57 sacks.

By the end of his fourth season, Myles Garrett had 42.5 sacks.

By the end of his fourth season, Von Miller had 49 sacks.

Shhhhh. We don't want this to get out. We need Burns' trade value to stay as high as ever. 🤫

Really though, he's still very young and hasn't hit his prime. If we can figure the OLB thing out, then certainly these NFL execs have done it. Burns is here now playing pretty well with the hand that he's been dealt. We'll tender him and go from there.

Burns doesn't need to be among the all time greats to be a great DE. He is developing towards one, and has been one this season. He's no Peppers. But Peppers started 60 games his first four seasons and recorded 40.5 sacks. So far, Burns has started 45 and recorded 32.5; as a rookie the last half of the season saw him in on fewer than 50% of snaps. He isn't Peppers, he never will be, but fans are surprisingly hard on him for how strong a pass rusher he has been and how he has upped his game overall this year.

Unrelated... The interesting thing about the trade rumors is that initially we were told the Panthers wanted something along with the two first rounders this coming draft to do the deal. Then a 2nd got thrown in. That we didn't take that makes me think this is a Tepper thing. Maybe I'm wrong.

Another huge 3rd and 1 goal line stand. Tackle in the backfield by Burns. He stops drives and gets sacks which can change a game. Having a playmaker like Burns on the Chiefs Defense would be an absolute game changer and he is young enough to be a cornerstone for years to come.

He’s finally going to break double digit sacks. Now if he can get them in crunch time and not just off blown assignments/garbage time.

Idk he just had a third down sack and a 3rd and 1 in red zone tackle for loss. That is crunch time even though it’s not the 4th quarter. That’s points off the board for them. That is clutch. He’s not all pro level yet but he is making progress every year.

True but this whole game is garbage time. I need that sack against good teams before the season is over
