Is baker the worst QB we have had?

...I was listening to my inner Browns fan but in retrospect, he had the 2 best backs in the NFL...OBJ, an above average oline and a good surrounding cast of WR's and couldn't get it done, thus, Watson. Also, except for Cam i went against my analytics... which is no Heisman and no qb for OSU....

It happens when you let emotions cloud your judgment.  Details and context are very important.

I seemed to have let part of my professional life bleed into my football player analysis. I notice everything when I really focus on a player or situation.

I also think it's become part a survival instinct to guage how much emotion I'm going to invest in the upcoming Panthers season.

Worst? No Most overrated? Yes

I see you're still slinking around pooing posts. This QB room is full of scrubs Darnold Mayfield Walker all of them. I can't imagine being as fragile as you are about acknowledging this. Guess you really love you some mediocrity. Have fun with that pal. Happy Thanksgiving!

I mean its obviously pickles (as long as we're not counting people like tony pike) but I really dont think Baker is healthy.

The biggest criticism of him coming out was he didn't have the "natural" big arm. He had to really get in to everything to make those big throws. That's not necessarily a bad thing (brees) but when you get beat to poo like he was last year, where he hurt almost literally everything BUT his throwing arm, that's going to have some bad effects.

early in the year, before everything had fallen apart, he just didn't look healthy. Now it looks like he has the yips which is even worse.

I just think we bought a broken QB.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
