Bryce Young's official height measurement is this year's Kenny Pickett hand measurement

Very happy we don't have to ride out Pickett though, he looks mediocre Keenumish at best (but honestly, has already shown more NFL downfield ability than Zach Wilson lol).

I just want to see the fire in the eyes with a QB.  I want to see a guy that bleeds football and wills his team to wins.  I just hope the staff doesn't fall for a guy that is checking boxes but not passing the QB all around leadership role.

Stroud gives me pause at times, but he really makes you go wow at times with his throws.  Hard not to gravitate towards him. Young, he's got that energy about him, smoothness in the pocket, his teammates love him, looks like Q-Tip, figures out a way.

I think Penix and Ward do this as well, Jaren Hall has shown a lot.  And my random sleeper that will likely amount to nothing in Clayton Tune does.

Gun to the head, right now, I'd double dip...Young R1, Ward R4ish

Now, a secondary possibility is getting Carter or Murphy and then trading UP into R1 for the high ceiling guys like Richardson (or maybe Penix).   You don't trade back and fall into the QB you want, that just doesn't happen, you gotta seek them out.  (RE: BAL, KC)

Easiest way for him to do that is to stop being so involved.

Tepper really hasn't been involved. The only thing he has really done is hire and fire. The power that he gave Rhule was ill-advised, so that was a dark cloud over everything, but he intimated that that mistake won't happen again.

It was said that he wanted Fields, if he was really that involved, we would have Fields.

Why are we talking about drafting another young QB when we have Corral  on the roster?  Sure, he's unproven right now - but couldn't we build around him?   Or do you want a 2nd young QB to partner with him and build from there?

one of them  has to pan out eventually

Look at the throws by Penix especially the one around 3:20. He launches a perfect pass right before getting blown up by a free rusher.

he's got some of the worst luck with injuries in football. i just don't see how that couldn't carry over into the NFL. otherwise i like him, but those injuries....i'd be fine letting someone else take that risk.

I'm not too concerned about ACLs as they are common (he just had 2), the sternum injury seems behind him, but the one that concerns me in the AC joint shoulder injury.  I don't know enough about medical to know if that can cause issues down the road.  Anything with the shoulder for a QB should definitely be looked at thoroughly...

The point is you don't see these throws from Young and Stroud.

Another question is if we choose to bring the rookie along slowly, who would you sign to at least start the season?  That is a real possibility, so let's talk about the elephant in the room.  Let's not pretend it's a 100% given said rookie QB takes the first snap of opening day.

Richardson at the top of the 2nd makes sense.

He is way more accomplished in passing than Cam ever was.  We would in short order be the Ravens.  His game is close to Lamar Jackson, but with a bit more size.  100yds running and 180 passing per game.

Win the Super Bowl?  Therein lies the development question

Minshew.  Especially if the we get the OC from the Eagles as our HC.

    • Good, our ST is almost as bad as our ILB depth!
    • With two starters on expiring contracts (Moton + Corbett) as well as a few back-ups (Christensen, Mays, and Nijman), the Panthers are likely going to have to reinvest in the OL after this coming season. Icky's fifth-year option was picked up by the team this offseason while Lewis and Hunt both remain under contract then (though Lewis' deal is set-up in a way that would let Carolina move on from him then as well). I think that the team is going to be looking at investing a premium pick at RT should Bryce's development continue, and might even look to double dip at the position in order to have a swing tackle that can also kick inside when needed. There's also the question of starting center... Prospects I'm watching this upcoming college season... Centers Jake Slaughter (Florida) Iapani Laloulu (Oregon) Connor Lew (Auburn) Logan Jones (Iowa) Parker Brailsford (Alabama) Connor Tollison (Missouri) Bryce Foster (Kentucky) Pat Coogan Notre Dame) Raheem Anderson (Michigan) Carson Hinzman (Ohio State) RTs Francis Mauigoa (Miami) Kadyn Proctor (Alabama) Spencer Fano (Utah) Gennings Dunker (Iowa) Blake Miller (Clemson) Isaiah World (Oregon) Caleb Tiernan (Northwestern) Monroe Feeling (Georgia) Earnest Greene III (Georgia) Monroe Mills (Louisville) Charles Jagusah (Notre Dame) Tree Babalade (South Carolina) Trey Zuhn III (Texas A&M) Nolan Rucci (Penn State) Tristan Leigh (Clemson) Fernando Carmona (Arkansas) JC Davis (Illinois) Riley Mahlman (Wisconsin) PJ Williams (SMU) Tosh Baker (Notre Dame) Aki Ogunbiyi (Texas A&M) Courtland Ford (Kentucky) Ethan Onianwa (Rice)
    • I watched documentary on the 2010 Auburn season and Cam wasn’t included in that either. I think he just doesn’t care for these things
