Who’s the idiot that decided Hubbard is the 3rd down back? He made that simple 1 yard catch look hard and a run by him on 3rd and 8 is destined for failure

Guys, they're going to call what they think will work. They don't want Darnold to throw a pick early and start his moody spiral. It's basically the same thing that Matt Rhule did with Darnold his first few games, and even in training camp. They won't ask too much of him until they start being schemed against. When that happens, he'll go back to a 1:2 touchdown to interception ratio that he's built his career on.

Darnold created that coverage by underthrowing DJ. That was a TD with even a bit more on that ball.

Exactly. It’s a long game. No need to take early unnecessary risks when our run game and defense should be able to win it for us.
