Don't follow the college game very closely, but the things I heard about Coach Leach led me to believe he was a man of character, insight, and intelligence.  If Luvu is any indication of the kinds of players he produces, then he must have been a helluva coach.

There have been tons of get we'll wishes recently and loads of people eulogizing him today.

His death was very sudden and unexpected.

He was not universally loved as he tended to be rather abrasive but he was a very talented head coach and offensive scheme guy.

Dennis Leary probably put it best when he said all the really talented people die young while the people you want to die just seem to go on and on and on. "You could put Motley Crue in a room with two tons of cocaine and they'd probably just come out going "We're gonna do a double live album now!"

Sounds like we lost a great one.

RIP coach Leach.

Not sure why 4 Corners shat on you but Leach was an innovator. Kliff Kingsbury owes his career to Mike Leach. He made guys like Lincoln Riley, Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray possible.

He was a real innovator in the game and made the Air Raid system palpable, if not preferred by many around the country seeking to level the playing field against more talented opponents. Tactician, intellectual, and by most accounts a decent human being if not demanding.

I'll miss his Press conferences and general wisdom imparted and I'm sure everyone who knew him feels the same.

Sad day for football. A Sunflower in a field of daisy's has fallen.

    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
