Again. He didn’t drafted and staff this team

he was quoted as telling snow his dline was too light for sustained success in the Nfl

he was right

He had his DC and wouldn’t even adjust a safety over the top of Evans pretty poor showing IMO

Did anyone here hear (or see) what he said in his Postgame presser?

If you did, then those who call him a "scapegoat" shouldn't be calling him that since he scapegoated Sam.

It is pathetic, really.

As a head coach, you should always point the finger to yourself and he didn't.

Coaches who throw their own QBs under the bus aren't Coaches who get hired to be Head Coaches.

What if it’s Wilks with his own staff and a different QB?

That's not what he said. He said Wilks with Darnold back as the starter.

I'm not completely opposed with entertaining Wilks staying. But Darnold is not a long-term option at starting QB. If he's signed to backup money and is keeping the seat warm for a developing rookie, fine. But committing to Darnold long-term as the starter and I'm out. That'd be it.

You'll probably spend the majority of your time over at the Canes board, I assume.  😉

Oh I know. I was just curious if it was more Wilks or Darnold that would piss you off the most about that move.
Wilks with Ben Johnson or Pep Hamilton plus an experienced, successful DC would be interesting.

I don’t think Wilks would roll with Darnold as the answer. He was pretty adamant about wanting to trade up and draft his QB when he was at Arizona. Also the look in his face when Darnold threw that pick and fumbled the snap was pretty telling he isn’t sold on him…

How was his look when Darnold threw those 3 Touchdowns?  🤔

I think he had the same expression.

Though throwing the QB under the bus and basically blaming him solely for the loss in his presser isn't a good look but I digress..

Did he blame Darnold in the presser?  I missed that...

Rivera has made a career of it.

I'd be much more ok with Darnold coming back than Wilks.  Much easier to cut bait on a journeyman QB (at this point in his career, that's his destiny) than a new HC.

    • I understand where OP is coming from in general. Personally I don't have anything against Bryce the person. By all accounts he's a great guy. As an NFL QB and as the face of the franchise however I must acknowledge he is enough to make someone stop watching football altogether. If we had transitioned directly to him from Cam and Kyle Allen instead of Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Darnold PJ Walker Baker Mayfield etc I would probably feel more apathy toward the situation but I've been through the ringer already so this is whatever. I will say as nice of a kid as he is his personality is unbelievably milquetoast and it's hard to ignore even when he plays well and wins it just feels like your QB is Steve Urkel and you're always left waiting for the other shoe to drop. It is what it is 🤷‍♂️
    • Not only Bryce... The "all star" coaching staff approach was pushed on Reich because Tepper saw the initial success Brian Daboll was having. That's how we ended up with Thomas Brown (among others) rather than the staff Reich would hav chosen himself. When it comes to football, Tepper is one of those guys who sees someone else having success and says "hey, let's copy that" rather than getting people who have their own ideas. Not just unoriginal, but also stupid 😡 As to Bryce, Fitterer admitted he'd locked in on Bryce the year before and wasn't budging. Pretty much everyone believes Reich wanted Stroud, but why would you expect him to get his choice of quarterback when he didn't even get his choice of assistant coaches? Add in that besides Tepper using assistants as basically corporate spies, Fitterer threw Reich under the bus when Bryce wasn't an overnight sensation. Basically, Reich never had a shot. Now Fitterer is gone, the all star staff is mostly gone, the Giants are a sh-t show and Reich is experiencing a career resurrection at Stanford. And us? Well, we're still here hoping for a miracle 😕
    • Speaking of guys that need to return to school, John Mateer. He has really nuked his stock during SEC play.
