Report: Jim Harbaugh wants to return to NFL (Athletic)

The bidding war thing, it's not like they're going to offer a billion dollars.  Most owners in the league can afford to be aggressive in the bidding war.  It's more about not wanting to piss off other owners by driving up the price on coach contracts as well as taking a risk on how long of a contract to offer.  The Gruden fiasco might have made owners shy about offering such long contracts, but Tepper showed with Rhule he doesn't mind sinking a bunch of money just because he offered a long contract.  Glad we have an owner that doesn't stubbornly stick to mistakes, and also isn't so impatient that he cuts bait at the first sign of adversity.

I trust Allbright 100 times out of 100 over Kunkel

I don't trust either, but the Broncos certainly are worse situation, tied to a bad QB for quite a while.  I'd say our QB situation is better just because we have freedom to do whatever he wants at QB rather than being saddled with a bad one that they can't cut.  And even not considering their bad QB situation, their roster isn't nearly as good as ours.  We'd HAVE to be a more attractive situation than Denver.

Comparing the three teams: on paper broncos maybe and I mean maybe have the better roster than the panthers. but they are better than Indy. Panthers have more draft picks than Indy and Denver. Cap space, I’m not sure on. I think indy leads the way on that but after next year we are looking at the most we have ever had. Also, with some cuts and restructures, we are in god shape for this coming season. Looking at all that, to me, we have the edge. It all just depends on where he wants to go.

I’ve heard for a few weeks now Indy is it bc he has ties there and if I’m not mistaken he’s close with Irsay. I live near Indy so all my friends are Colts fans and I’m just saying what they are hearing.

Ben mentioned yesterday that we are more attractive then Denver as well and he’s a Denver media guy.

Broncos want him too and they can outbid all of us plus the teams put together

Why do some of y'all believe that the billionaire with the most money is the one that's going to win the bidding war? We're talking billions, not even millions, and certainly not thousands, hundreds or tens. This isn't eBay with a bunch of broke folks. All of these owners can win this thing, and it probably won't even come down to a relatively few millions, it will likely come down to other, or at least additional, aspects of the contract. The potential winner of the bidding war could easily win Harbaugh, but lose the battle by grossly overpaying and overvaluing Harbaugh's services while a less expensive candidate actually leads his team to a championship. No one, even if they are loaded, wants to do that. Potential bidders are keenly aware of that possibility, and that's probably what will keep any money offered within the realm of practicality. All of these guys can afford to pay outrageous money, but they don't want to look like fools.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
