Yeah, that is a mid to late first type of move. The top end of that position has extreme value but it's too rare to get those type of players. Not a premium value position unless it is a truly elite player.

It simply takes too long them to have an impact, and when they do...it's with the next team.

Jim using Tepper as leverage to get a stupid amount of money from Denver is his best play here

Which is probably what’s happening here

You think Denver is a better situation?  Stuck with Russ, no first round pick, and a loaded division?

JIM HARBAUGHHC, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT

The Athletic's Joe Person reports that Panthers owner David Tepper has talked with Michigan coach John Harbaugh about Carolina's head coach position.

Harbaugh has also been linked to the Broncos job and The Athletic had a piece Monday predicting that he would be open to taking an NFL job this offseason. Harbaugh almost got the Vikings job last offseason before they decided to go with Kevin O'Connell and the former 49ers coach had a lot of success in his first go-round as an NFL head coach. The smoke seems to be getting heavy that he'll fill one of the vacancies this offseason

What's John doing at Michigan coaching his brother's team??

dude the Panthers exist for coaches and free agents to use them as leverage when in reality, they're never coming close to signing here

As shitty as he was, Rhule was a top candidate last year and Tepper prevented him from going to NYG.  Money talks.

It feels hella disrespectful to be talking to coaches about a vacancy while you have a head coach preparing the team for a game. This conversation couldnt wait ONE WEEK?

Why?  Wilks has all but guaranteed himself an interview.  If he is confident in his plan going forward he shouldn't worry about who else gets interviewed.

    • Good, our ST is almost as bad as our ILB depth!
    • With two starters on expiring contracts (Moton + Corbett) as well as a few back-ups (Christensen, Mays, and Nijman), the Panthers are likely going to have to reinvest in the OL after this coming season. Icky's fifth-year option was picked up by the team this offseason while Lewis and Hunt both remain under contract then (though Lewis' deal is set-up in a way that would let Carolina move on from him then as well). I think that the team is going to be looking at investing a premium pick at RT should Bryce's development continue, and might even look to double dip at the position in order to have a swing tackle that can also kick inside when needed. There's also the question of starting center... Prospects I'm watching this upcoming college season... Centers Jake Slaughter (Florida) Iapani Laloulu (Oregon) Connor Lew (Auburn) Logan Jones (Iowa) Parker Brailsford (Alabama) Connor Tollison (Missouri) Bryce Foster (Kentucky) Pat Coogan Notre Dame) Raheem Anderson (Michigan) Carson Hinzman (Ohio State) RTs Francis Mauigoa (Miami) Kadyn Proctor (Alabama) Spencer Fano (Utah) Gennings Dunker (Iowa) Blake Miller (Clemson) Isaiah World (Oregon) Caleb Tiernan (Northwestern) Monroe Feeling (Georgia) Earnest Greene III (Georgia) Monroe Mills (Louisville) Charles Jagusah (Notre Dame) Tree Babalade (South Carolina) Trey Zuhn III (Texas A&M) Nolan Rucci (Penn State) Tristan Leigh (Clemson) Fernando Carmona (Arkansas) JC Davis (Illinois) Riley Mahlman (Wisconsin) PJ Williams (SMU) Tosh Baker (Notre Dame) Aki Ogunbiyi (Texas A&M) Courtland Ford (Kentucky) Ethan Onianwa (Rice)
    • I watched documentary on the 2010 Auburn season and Cam wasn’t included in that either. I think he just doesn’t care for these things
