According to IB Journo, Harbaugh's people contacted Roger Goodell and said he had interest in running the entire league but was willing to settle for full control, which is substantially less power than the current commissioner has had.

Staley is getting criticized all over the place for playing starters (who wound up injured) in a meaningless game.

If the Spanos family wants to move on from him, this could be cited as justification.
