Eck. Pretty embarrassing that the younger guys promising guys are turning the interviews down. Steichen is the last hope. I'm assuming Reich's style would be considered more "aggressive" than "innovative"

They didn’t just turn us down.

Just add in Julio Jones and we’d have the entire divisions leftovers. And yes I know he was in TB this year but point still stands.

I was just thinking that Payton would try to do a solid to his former organization and make sure they get good comp for him, but then I also think that him as a competitor is not gonna want to give something up that's gonna hinder his ability to win, especially to a division rival, even if it is his former employer.  So this will be interesting...  but as someone else said, it's entirely possible the asking price isn't the anticipated first rounder bc if NO makes it a haggle, Payton can always just decide to sit out another year snd they get nothing as his contract expires.

Actually I think it's 2 more years, don't think he's a free agent as a coach until after the 2024 season.

Which if that's the case, gives NO a lot of power in any negotiation since I don't think Payton wants to sit out 2 more years.

    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
    • Dan's been talking about upgrading CB since beginning of free agency
    • I'm more of a Hornets fan than I am a Panthers fan, I've watched a ton of this franchise the last 20 years. I post all day on RealGM. Don't get your hopes up, this is setting us up for a 20 point loss to the Heat and a swift end to the season. Spoelstra has always solved us, the Heat have two bigs that we have no answers for, and Jaquez is a certified Hornets killer that always plays us like he has a grudge on us. The Hornets being a top 10 team all year and a top 5 team the last half of the year and then flat out missing the playoffs is incredibly on brand for this crappy, horrendous franchise. I would love to be proven wrong. But I've suffered enough to know this little scheme the team is pulling. We finished 2 games out of 6th and guaranteed playoffs, and we blew two games to the Pacers and Nets earlier in the season, when they weren't trying to win. It's just who we are, Hornets DNA
