Which candidates would YOU interview in round two?

For the record, I did not include Payton in my personal list because I am becoming convinced he isn't that serious about taking a job this offseason.

I would go with one of the three of Steichen, Kafka, or Payton to get the job. So I’d pick them for second interviews, in that order.

Do we even need a head coach? Appoint a member of the Huddle each week to coach the team.

Reading multiple threads and especially the main on regarding our coaching search, it really seems like the majority are in favor for Steichen. I think it’d be a home run.

Steichen #1 - body of work this season and history with Herbert 

 

kafka #2 - learned under Reid and a season with Daboll. Still impressive to do what they did with the giants roster 

 

moore #3 - he’s being slept on right now after sundays game but the cowboys were in a position to beat the best defense in football. If not for Dak’s* awful turnovers, the pollard injury and not trusting the kicker for a half I think it would be a different story

Give me Steichen, Kafka, Moore, in that order.

The young offensive guys plus Reich, minus Moore.

I'd likely minus Dorsey too but I think Dan Morgan will probably push for him.

Maybe Wilks, if only for the players...

Impossible to really know not seeing these guys under the microscope of an interview setting or understanding what they're selling.  But as an outsider--

Steichen, Kafka, Reich & Evero

Steichen, big drop to Kafka and then a bunch of variation of failures. Moore and Dorsey look more like a Hackett then a Daboll. Wilks, Reich and Caldwell would likely be very mediocre and boring. Fug Payton.

I actually like Caldwell a lot but he is 69 years old and has had some health issues so I don't think he is in serious consideration. Honestly, I would put him on my list(Steichen, Kafka, Reich) in the place of Reich if he were 10 years younger. But I would also have Payton if his interest was legitimate, which I do not believe it is.

He is very meh for me. Visiting the past and continuing to watch the NFL move into the future without us. He like Reich is a coach I would rather have around not as a HC.
