Keeping this separate from the Panthers discussion since that's ramped up.

If you're thinking we're doing bad, not sure I'd agree but either way I'd point out that it could most definitely be worse 😕

It seriously seems like Saturday has some kind of blackmail on Irsay to catapult him to HC with literally zero other professional coaching experience.

8 x 10 glossies, maybe?

I have said several times Tepper may see Wilks as a "safe pick" after looking like a buffoon with The Process.  At least Wilks can claim that title.  Saturday looked like 6-foot of man standing in 15-feet of water.

Maybe he will "grow into" the position, but from here that looks like thinking your 6-year-old will someday grow into being a renown brain surgeon.  It may happen, but how anybody could pin their hopes on it unfolding is a mystery.

Meanwhile, Bieniemy may be the 6-year-old's 15-year-old brother in that scenario.  He's either going to surprise everybody and become the renown brain surgeon or get a D in high school biology and become a plumber.

If they keep Saturday, they are planning to pick Maye next year. They are planning to tank for Maye. I can see it coming

    • I would say the extremes from both camps in these conversations have to do with the blurring of the fact Bryce is a first overall pick and the expectations for that draft slot fair or not far exceed just being a top 20-25 starter amongst your peers. Regardless. All logical Panthers fans want him to be the answer.
    • The offseason is always when hope springs eternal. If you look past that, you can see a very bad roster with a lot more questions than definitive answers. Let's hope we get a lot of those right, because I think we are a lot closer to another impatient Tepper reset than we probably think.
    • These arguments are getting more and more disingenuous from both the pro and anti Bryce crowd. Bryce looked very good for stretches down the final 8 games. He finally showed glimpses of the guy that was projected as a top QB pick in the draft. Bryce also didn't look like a top 10 NFL QB.  I think we are so far removed from Prime Cam that we forget what an elite QB looks like. I could tell that when people were losing their minds and simping for Sam Darnold. This season needs to finally showcase Bryce as a franchise talent. If that doesn't happen, it's time to pivot. There are very few recent examples of QB's struggling or being a mixed bag through the first three seasons of starting and then suddenly becoming frachise caliber players.
