Reich New Head Coach

Welp, it was pretty evident from the coaches interviewed that the Panthers were leaning towards an offensive minded HC.  So when choosing between Wilks or Reich Tepper's final selection is not really all that surprising.

Here's to hoping the Panthers under Reich find success in the years ahead.

Best wishes to Wilks going forward.

Ummmm, anybody think he could have an Andy Reid type thing happen here in Carolina after he was fired in Indy? I don't know what to think of this hire in all honesty as I dont know much about him. Some of you guys got me on the Shane Steichen wagon so I was hoping he would get the nod from us. Does he have the Andy Reid ability or smarts to come here and do what Reid did in Kansas City? I have no idea so I thought I would ask someone who knows more about him than me.

3 winning seasons at Indy. 40-31 record. Not mediocre. Had Carson Wentz with the eagles playing at an mvp level.

4-12 is all that matters, and he had more talent than we did

And will probably be our record for the next 4 years

Team moral just dip -10...

Wilks > Reich...hope he proves me wrong.

Wilks had the players respect...Reich going have to earn it.

Did Reich ever find his QB in Indy...sounds a bit like Rhule...Wentz/Darnold...Baker/Matt Ryan..

And I hope Wilks gets a HC shot somewhere else, and make the playoffs...and watch the huddle meltdown when we go 5-11 the next three years...lol

watch he sign Daniel Jones....

Reich is a veteran player and now coach who by all accounts is a good man and good coach respected around the league. The locker room full of players that haven’t won anything in 5 years has to earn his respect. Not the other way around

I don't think we should expect an Andy Reid type. Reid has been insanely successful no matter where he has been(only 7 of 24 seasons with less than 10 wins).

It would be nice but that is a pretty crazy bar to hit.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
