Do we have any chance at Evero for DC? Sounds like Payton might be looking for his guy in Denver.

Sucks that the Wilks lawsuit is hanging overhead here….I’d take Flores in a minute.

At the moment, nobody does.

Even though they're interviewing other defensive coordinator candidates, they're not giving Evero permission to seek DC jobs elsewhere.

Payton's being a dick to him, which I'm sure doesn't surprise anybody.

The Vikings have requested permission, and word is the Rams would too If they lost Raheem Morris.

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reports the Broncos have blocked the Vikings from interviewing DC Ejiro Evero.

Evero, who was passed over for the Broncos' head coach job, met with new coach Sean Payton about remaining with the team in 2023. Denver blocked Atlanta from interviewing Evero earlier this offseason but the Vikings are holding out for a chance to hire him away from the Broncos. Denver has been lining up interviews with defensive coordinators, pointing to Evero not being back. In addition to the Vikings, Evero would be a top target for the Rams if DC Raheem Morris lands the Colts' head coach job.

It's just a dick move from Peyton. Either hire the guy or let the guy interview for other jobs. That's the decent thing to do but Sean Payton has never struck me as a decent person.

You are right but it sounds like the Broncos front office in general is dirty and classless if they already blocked another interview before Payton even got there. Way to start things off for a new staff creating a hostile situation before you've even assembled a staff. I hope that whole thing is a dumpster fire. I wish the Broncos nothing but the worst.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go put some water in Sean Payton's mama's dish.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
