Honestly, with all the flaws from each of the top 4 QB prospects, I'm fine with any of them.  The more and more I try to analyze the situation the more apparent the need for a heady bridge QB.  We need a QB who will show our draft pick how to be a pro, and make our QB earn the starting job.  I know it sounds cliché, but that's what we need.  Frank and mostly Josh can be the teachers the vet needs to set the example.

Cam, through his adversity at Florida and JC learned how to put a team on his back and willed them to the national championship.  One aspect of Cam's game that I feel is often overlooked is his leadership abilitly.  He took over the personality of the team on both sides of the ball.  He was a grinder.

If Richardson or Levis have that grinder mentality I'm all about either of them.  As critical as many were of Levis last year, he didn't gripe.  The dude is confident, just hope he isn't Zack Wilson like cocky.

Give me someone like Minshew or Heinicke who can serve as a solid #2 for years but will not back down to earn the job as our bridge QB.

HS?   High-School?

You can't mention what College he played for?   lol

Alright diphead

ARich has spent 3 years at Florida= 3years removed from HS when he went pro

Cam spent 2 years at Florida, 1 at Juco, 1 at Auburn= 4 years removed from HS

If he has a great pro day this kid might be the 1st QB off the board. His hype is starting to get bigger by the day. So many positive reports about him coming out of the combine.

I was on the Stroud/Young train but this kid wouldn't be a bad fallback option "if" he's still available

If Richardson will be the first guy taken, I'll change my name to "bottom dawg. For a year.

In those 3 years he's only started 13 games. He was also a redshirt sophomore coming into the draft.  He is raw as raw can get for an nfl prospect.  Think about that before you invest serious capital and put your employment on the line.

Cam only started 14 D1 games.

I do not consider that comparable. The results were not even close. Not saying switching the teams may have resulted in the same outcome but you cannot use hypothetical projections.  He is much future behind in his development and just because he resembles Cam Newton does not mean he will even sniff Cam 2.0 if that's the thinking.

Oh, I definitely think Cam was significantly better in his 4th college season than Richardson was in his 3rd.

love the potential, love the hype, love the fun plays.

we had that with Cam. I want to win a super bowl. That is all I care about. Give me the most boring QB in the world if that means a ring. I don't AR wins us a ring. It would make for some good memories and fun games, like with Cam. But no ring.

Give me Stroud or Levis.

I'd be fine with taking him at #9 - the same goes for Stroud and Young. I wouldn't trade up for any of these QBs and I simply don't like Levis as a prospect.

    • I still think it's too soon to say last year's draft was bad. I think those who do are the eternal pessimists. We had 4 players who contributed last season. Two were starters. It's possible all 4 are starters this season. How is that a bad draft? I know it's because our roster was so bad but still, they are on this roster so it's the only one that counts.  Before I say it's a bad draft I prefer to wait and see how they play this season. It's possible we may have FIVE starters from that draft playing the season. Anyone who thinks drafting 5 starters by season two is a bad draft should visit a psychiatrist where they can get a prescription to help them live happier lives.    I'm not saying it was a success yet but I damn sure ain't calling it a failure yet. Most players don't make it. Most of those who do need a little time. One season isn't enough time which is why they are still on the team Leggete, Coker (UDFA but still we got him), Sanders, Smith-Wade and Wallace all showed promise last season. If they all take a step forward then it was a great draft. If only 1 does than it was an average draft. If they regress then and only then will I say it was a bad draft.  Fans often have unreasonable expectations compared to the reality of draft results. I believe this draft will shine as I think it's going to better due to the depth of the class but I also believe we will look back at 2024 and say that was a good class too. I think we have 5 players from that class who will be starters or rotational pieces for the next couple of years at least. That's a win.
    • Playing devils adovcate here, but if you truly wanted to trade down then it made no sense to be a smoke screen for Walker only.  Especially since Tmac is not a generational type player.  Make it known that he is in play and see if the cowboys or whoever really like him as rumored.
    • I mean everybody was, there is a difference between wanting them to draft the guy you like and accepting them drafting someone else based off all the intel and rumors. Up until draft night everybody was convinced it was gonna be walker or maybe another defensive player. If you didn't you was just crossing your fingers.
