I’m good with AR15 at 1. You can’t teach the skills he already has. Our coaching staff can mold him into a great Qb. I love stroud but was it him or all the amazing receivers he played with at OSU?

Yeah like Burrow did at LSU?

Yeah, pretty much every iteration I've seen of "the Panthers like" is "Stroud and (insert player here)".

Stroud is the only guy everybody seems to be able to agree on the Panthers wanting.

Worth noting though that this doesn't guarantee he'll be the guy.

Agreed.  If we stay at 1, I will be HIGHLY surprised if it's not Stroud/Young unless something crazy happens the next month and a half.

The skills that he has are mostly just physical traits.

A couple of teams have gone the route of trying to take physical specimens and train them to be quarterbacks. It hasn't proven to be a good strategy. That's why I'm not a fan of drafting Richardson (or Will Levis, for that matter).

You take the guy who already knows how to play the position. If he's also a great athlete, fine. But having actual quarterback skills will always trump having athletic skills.

Will Levis is a waaay better QB at QBing and throwing accurately. Me and Payton Manning say so.

Please by all means point out where I’m wrong…

Who is truly right or wrong in these discussions? None of us knows which QB will be the best out of this group. It might not even be Young or Stroud. Idk why some of you guys are so unwilling to just admit who you like. You clearly follow Alabama at least a little bit. It's odd to lie about it. But whatever works for you 🤙

And that he loves Young. And that Frank likes Stroud, but also loves Richardson. My goodness!

These people sound like a fickled, grade school girl that has lots of boys to chose from as a special boyfriend  but can't make up her mind on the choice.

Exactly what are "quarterback skills"? I love how we just make up rules. Almost like being able to actually run and escape the pocket doesn't require any skill at all. It's giving me Giannis doesn't have skills vibes.

Keeping our name tied to AR15 is strictly strategical. Stroud is worlds ahead of this guy. If the Texans want AR15 and are afraid we'll take him, we could possibly use this to our advantage to trade back a spot... because no way on God's green earth does anyone think AR15 is better than Stroud.

    • I believe Lloyd will elevate not just the whole unit, but also whoever his running mate is. Wallace is still very young, I think he's only 23 with two years of exp now. Cherelus can handle starting, he's just fighting with staying healthy. Kuwatch I think is going to be a contender after a couple week of understanding the system.  I mean Lee will be against..... what nearly 10 NFL-level WRs, he's going to get work and its up to him if he can hang.  I think its fair to expect 12th +/- 3 or 4 spots.  You know this, it boils down to how healthy everyone stays.....cause if dbrown, horn, Lloyd, Michael Jackson, or tervon miss extended time.....no way 10th can be reached. IF all the names above remain haethly, I do think 10th should be the goal. They are a young unit and added talent to a 16th ranked unit. Its time to march forward!!
    • Varying degrees all around but it starts at the top. That is where the buck stops. It has been 8 years of stupid, long before Morgan came back. Or Tillis was hired. Made it to the top of stupid mountain in 2023. Stayed in stupid limbo for a while, now we are prepping to scale the next mountain. In this case, I like those guys’ roster building better than what we have had so I am okay with them as our current pawns in the game of Bryce.
    • Don't let me gas him up too much, but I hear this and that...... I seen a wide body man with a quick burst, that's able to shed blocks and if extends his long arms its over. He tore up the OL in the senior, you seen about 10 plays and the dog walking OLman. There's other plays of him doing the same, just have to deal with fetus talking over the plays. Plus there's this-  https://x.com/PFF_College/status/2018385471068332410?lang=en     I hope he's ready, cause Id like to see him starting and doing his thang with dbrown, nic, and Phillips.
