I suppose he could work as a rotational DE in Evero's scheme, but I'm unsure how his above-avg run defense holds up in a 3-4 vs. 4-3.  Think he's just out of place but I've been wrong before 🙂

I'm sure Evero's review will play a big part in what they do with him.

Down and distance often changes where  players play.
On obvious passing downs you might see Brown move to the middle and someone like YGM play end.

Skill positions on offense are definitely the weak point and it’s gonna take a while to rebuild. Love the Miles Sanders signing, but wideout is gonna need to be a top priority.

of course, none of this matters if QB is a bust. Gotta get that pick right.

Shaq Thompson and Chinn Tandem are TINY for 3-4. We need to start thinking about Shaqs future and rumors were that we were.

that bothers me a lot.  I wondered about Luvu, and Smith is of decent size--just raw.

Not really fast enough to be an edge rusher. Don't know that he's good enough inside to be a 3-4 DE.

Definitely a question mark...

Luvu Probably will start over Haynes, but I wondered if they would not use him as a LB---YGM needs to be traded if possible.   I could be a third down specialist to rush from the 5t, but that is speculation.

YGM is going to be an Edge. He doesn't fit the frame of a traditional 3-4 5T or 3T. He and Luvu are more of a 3-4 Anchor and Burns/Haynes/Barno will likely be the Buck.

I do not see it, but it is possible.  I did not know where to use him--figured an inside pass rusher on passing downs.

He's not fast enough or athletic enough to play edge and he's too small to play de in 3-4.  He's a fish out of water on this defense

great work as always mhs, Id like to the following sleepers-

Preston Williams- my guy and panther WR savior.

Raequan Williams- PS bouncer and panthers need DL help can a 4-3 guy do it??

Arron Mosby- panthers best 22' UDFA and he got some game action, like needing DL depth&help...panthers also need LB help, that could be mosby

Larnel Coleman- phins 7th round pick and panthers signed him to be active roster mid-season. campy is a pro at finding gold among the dirt. This guy could be the answer to the swing tackle issue, they kept him on the active roster for a reason.

Herb miller- CB that played in 13 games and is new to the panthers, with the two starters injury-prone. He could give a couple starts

I throw stuff out there and everyone's feedback helps me find my blind spots.  I would actually make some changes now--so I appreciate the feedback.

I was going to ask someone to put one together, got it saved in my Panthers file.  Makes it so much easier to look at the roster this way

Thanks for pulling this together. Basbear made some nice additions with guys who should, at least currently, be listed as depth.

I’d have Barno backing up Burns and Haynes backing up Luvu at OLB.

I think the next time we see YGM, he’ll be weighing around 280-285lbs. He might be close already. He came into the league at 265. That would be plenty big enough for 5T especially since he succeeds in stopping the run.

If we do trade him, I hope we target OL help whether it’s players or picks. Slim pickings right now and two of our starters are working through injuries.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
