I wanna pick Chaos so bad... but if the team is selecting #1 (or #2 for that matter), I'd prefer it be either Young or Stroud. Both have their positives, and these coaches know more about NFL QBs then I can ever hope to dream of, so I'm going to trust in the process this go around.

I don't really give a flying rat's ass if there's chaos among fans as long as the pick ultimately turns out to be the right one.

My football knowledge and prowess is well documented around here…

…everyone knows I’m an idiot. That said, I wanted Stroud but am warming to Young. I’ll be excited for either and I recognize I know less than @Jon Snow

Heh 😄

I've said numerous times there is absolutely nothing wrong with not knowing all the intricacies of football. It's a complicated game.

It's the acting like you know when you really don't that's annoying. Not knowing though? Never a big deal.

It's supposed to be fun, right? 🙂

If I'm making the pick, it's Stroud. There are certainly things about him that concern me, but I think he's the best overall choice.

I could live with Young. He's everything I would typically want in a quarterback, but his size scares me.

Levis and Richardson both strike me as physical specimens that you'd have to teach the quarterback position to, and I'm not a fan of that model.

Ultimately I'll trust whatever the staff decides, but Stroud would make that easier.

Pretty much this.

The closer we get to the draft, and the more we move along this process towards the draft, the more I think the pick is going to be Young. I’m excited about that, because Young has everything you look for and more in a QB. His height and size is an issue, but I don’t think it’s an issue that can’t be overcome.

Stroud is who I’ve wanted for months now, and he’s the guy i ultimately hope we pull the trigger on. I’ll be fine with either of those 2. They both seem to be great young men who have shown the ability to lead, and they play outstanding ball. Both would be great faces for a franchise.

But can it be compensated for? 🤔

I'm not worried about him making plays at the next level.  He is a very bright man and I think he can be great.  It's why I'm not upset if we draft him, I will be happy in fact.  I'm just concerned his body won't be able to hold up after so many hits from NFL players.  I know some of us don't like to hear it, but size does matter to a degree...

    • CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers coach Dave Canales said Friday that starters will play in the first two preseason games, stopping just short of admitting he made a mistake last season holding them out. The plan includes playing quarterback Bryce Young, who got off to a historically bad start to the 2024 regular season that got him benched after opening 0-2. Carolina opens their preseason schedule Friday at home against Cleveland, followed by an August 15 road game at Houston and August 21 home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.   Canales said he will evaluate after the first two games whether starters will play in the third game. "Kind of going through it last year, we had a mix of veteran players, but [this is] predominantly a pretty young team,'' said Canales, who has at least six new starters to the defense that was the worst in the league a year ago. "I just can't pass up the opportunities. The reps in games are valuable. "[But] it goes to the night before, when guys know they're going to go out there, they've got to make a decision to play football. So it starts the night before with the prep. You start thinking about your plan, taking care of your body, making sure you get your rest.''   https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45880676/panthers-starters-play-first-2-preseason-games-says-coach
    • You call the Cowboys purely for information, but we don't have the assets to pull off any realistic trade. Also, even if they would consider any trade, it's more likely they want to do it with an AFC team.
