I know it's not gonna happen but I really wish we'd just come out and say who we're picking so that I could start convincing myself that guy is gonna be great and all these other guys are gonna bust. 😂

I do wonder if they will announce before the draft?  It’s not like we need to put up a smokescreen

I wouldn't be surprised if the league has added some rules to stop teams from announcing the 1st draft pick before the draft.

The mystery makes for a better tv program and gives the anchors something to talk about for 20 minutes.

Do you think Stroud is just afraid to take the hit? He plays so well, but when then you'll see him within the pocket with the littlest bit of pressure and he'll sail the pass. There's this play and another one a bit later that almost is intercepted.

I was going to make that same comment a few days ago. Sometimes it looks like he’s legitimately afraid of contact

I think it's easier to get someone to feel more comfortable with pressure and taking hits than it is to get someone to avoid contact.

Guys like Cam were impossible to get that thru their heads because they're just not wired that way, no matter how often you beat it into them, when push comes to shove, they're going to deliver or take the hit, like Josh Allen has a tendency to do.

If Stroud was blatantly afraid of contact it would be one thing, but a few instances here or there, that's not as much of a concern, especially as he grows older and gets more comfortable in the NFL.

I would love to say that. Though so often Stroud can get the first down with his legs, but doesn't. Or that he could make a throw, but hesitates, or sails the pass. I wish there were more games like the Peach Bowl. I wish there were more times on film that I actually see him take the hit and deliver.

No. The NFL wants to keep as much intrigue as possible. It very well may leak from credible sources (and those sources will he trashed by the factions that don't want that guy or really want someone else) but there will definitely be no announcement.

Just giving him his due.  He could have skipped the combine..*cough* like Young but didn’t.  He did all the drills and work while a very healthy Bryce Young stood around watching.

I think Young was just following the Kylar Murray script of pigging out for 3 days to weigh in, and then not doing any combine drills because he was in no condition to do that.  They're about the same height.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
