It's very suspicious both TD and Smitty think AR will be the guy.

Something tells me AR is right in there with Stroud/Young. This might be a 3 horse race right down to the wire.

It's hard for me to think they'd draft a guy #1 to have him sit for a season to train him from the ground up. They already gambled picks and players. It would be hard for me to imagine them doubling down on another gamble to select AR #1 overall.

Yes.....As i already said, if you draft Bryce and he starts breaking down its automatic fireable offense. Because the signs and caution was there from the start  and you ignored. Plain and simple. Everybody has to go, the team is not a equipped to recover from this like other teams if that happens.

Should the same not be true in case that happens with Stroud? Stroud(6'3" 213 lbs) only has an inch and 8 lbs on Matt Corral(6'2" 205), whom some said was too small.

Honestly, if the Panthers miss on whoever they pick at 1, it'll most likely mean Tepper cleans house.

Maybe.  If they pick the one Tepper prefers, he's shown that he's willing to cut some slack.

Until we traded to 1, we were in QB hell.  When Carr went to the Saints we were either going to pay a fortune for Lamar, or roll the dice on the draft.

No indication Lamar Jackson was ever even in consideration...

Yeah if we take AR at 1, he will have plenty of playing time this year.

Dalton is here for reasons, not to say I want AR......Id just be more team AR if they still had the 9th pick...... Ive said this before too, if panthers had a eagles or 49ers roster and traded up to #1........AR would my top pick.

Panthers are not close in talent, so need to focus on who can lead this team. God didnt bless young with the size, weight, and speed. Stroud it is then.

I went back and watched some young stuff, he does throw lots while on the tips of his toes.....and its all full effort and whole body. Stroud is just a bigger young and has no need to do either of those. I think if you switched both, be the same results(team-wise). I just can not overlook the size, young doesnt have the quick speed like a murray/vick......If he did Id have a much harder time...

When did Steve Smith say he thinks Richardson is the guy?

The reverse is also true.  If you pick Stroud and Young tears it up while Stroud has trouble transitioning, the GM may end up unemployed.

Both are pretty accurate, had decent weapons, sat behind excellent lines and faced tough competition.  Both have shown magic.

Stroud is 5 inches taller, heavier, and appears to have  a slightly bigger arm.

Young just appears smarter, sneakier, and quicker than Stroud.    Its hard to measure those things, and who knows how either is going to progress in those areas.  We know Young is not going to get taller.   If Young was Stroud's height, I don't think there would be as many Stroud supporters.

Right now, I'm leaning toward Young.  I'd like to watch Young's worst game, does anybody know what Young's worst game was?

But Young isn't 6'3".

It's like saying if Darnold had Peyton Manning's brain he'd be the MVP. He doesn't, so he's on his third NFL team in four years.

It certainly is a concern!

But I think some ppl are overreacting to it, some even going as far as predicting injuries 100% because of it. These are the ppl I really don't understand.

I respect the opinion of ppl who think CJ is flat out better regardless of size, so he should be the pick. I disagree with it, but at least they want to take the better QB in their opinion regardless of size.

But I don't understand the ppl who say Bryce is better but let's take CJ because he is 4 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier right now...

To me, we need to go with the best QB regardless of size, because nobody can predict injuries.

I think Young is the better College QB. I think Stroud will be the better NFL QB.

A portion of that is down to his size, but not all of it. I don't think he can see the middle of the field (see below), I don't think he has a good NFL arm and I just think he'll get crumpled by NFL athletes.

His off-script style of play (which he resorts to cos he misses reads imo) doesn't work without having an elite intangible - for Murray and Wilson (two QBs of similar height) it's due to their mobility, which I don't think Young has. For Mahomes it's due to his ridiculous arm which Young definitely doesn't have.

I'm actually not fully convinced by Stroud either - his arm strength is 'good enough', but he's going to have to throw with a ton of anticipation for it to work in the NFL.

I’ve been with Stroud for some months, but I think I’ve slowly moved over to the Young side. I’ll be happy with either, but I think I want Young more

Ask yourself this- Is it ok for a QB to constantly be on the tippest point of their toes when making throws?

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
