With Rhule, it was his way or nothing.

He like to call it "collaborative" but his version of "collaboration" was basically badgering everybody until he got what he wanted.

There are no words to describe just how glad I am that man is gone.

Great stuff.  I always loved Dan Morgan and it is nice to see his role here.  The front office sounds like a great team who work very well together and trust and respect each other. They have a good philosophy and it sounds like they are able to execute it without big egos involved.  I am forgetting the past...in my mind this is Fitt's 1st year as GM.

Thanks for posting this @Mr. Scot

I haven't subscribed to a newspaper in decades, but the content I've seen from Ellis Williams and Mike Kaye convinced me to take a special offer The Observer had online.

Haven't regretted it. These guys are offering some of the best Panthers coverage we've had in a long long time.

I agree with that statement!

Definitely his first year with the actual powers that tend to come with the office.

I give a lot of the credit for the collaborative atmosphere to Fitterer. And the reason is because if you read the comments from the people who work for him, that's what they do.

I think this article shows how much this front office was actually handicapped by Rhule. It very much does feel like Fitterer was Rhule's yes man. Now that Rhule is gone, Fitt can really work his magic and results have been pretty good so far. I have the utmost confidence in this new staff even compared to previous successful regimes.

Sounds like it allowed Morgan to have a more prominent role and he has a much better working relationship with Fitterer than Rhule ever did.

I take the Observer online for the coverage on the panthers and I live 120 miles from Charlotte.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
