Stroud’s ball placement is better. His arm strength is better.

Young does certain things better than Stroud too.

But Stroud merely being bigger is just narrative.

Ball placement is a issue with many QB's among other skillsets he may have. This is a valuable skill we need from our new QB when we draft him since that is one of the spots we had problems with in the past. That is what CJ Stroud can bring us if drafted.

There's too much time between the end of the CFP, the superbowl, free agency and the draft. The draft should have been this weekend. No excuse to still be 20 days away.

The NFL coaches don't even focus on the Draft until the season is over - they listen to the scouts, but they make their own judgements.

You need to give them as much time as possible to actually evaluate the players and with the NFL stupidly adding an extra game that means less offseason for them to do so.

Every other league is fine. NBA is a 2.5 weeks after the finals. NHL 1 week. MLB during the season. NFL isn't some special league that needs so much time to evaluate, the scouts are working all year long.

It's when it's always been. The teams just started their draft process in like late Feb.

Fans start thinking draft after the first loss of the season. They don't have to.

If you think Stroud is anywhere near Bryce you draft Stroud and coach him up IMO. Because he has prototypical size and throwing ability that Bryce will probably never have.

If there's a huge gap and Bryce is lightyears ahead of Stroud in terms of decision making and ability to play under pressure, then pick Bryce.

I don't think the gap is that wide. Id be OKAY with Bryce but Id be ecstatic if we got CJ Stroud.

    • And that makes you right.
    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
