Surprised Eli didn tell him to refuse to play for the team that drafted him and force us to trade him to a team he likes

Oh wait, his last name isn't manning so it probably won't work

i think the chargers got the better end of that deal, tbh, they just didn’t do anything with it because their GM was an idiot.

At the end of the day, the Giants ended up with two rings and Eli played his ass off on both of those runs. I don't think there's any debate in hindsight. The Giants won.

i expect if you swap rivers and eli, the teams would have performed pretty much the same, though the helmet catch may never have happened. then imagine how nasty the giants would have been with shawnee merriman in their defense too.

the giants were a better coached team and a better run franchise. that’s what won them their superbowls. rivers + merriman >>> eli. the chargers won the trade.

You draft players to win Super Bowls. Eli led the Giants to two championships. The Chargers never even got to a Super Bowl. The Giants clearly won the trade. How is this even a debate?

because if you swap the players, the giants still win. they didn’t win because of eli. rivers was easily as good as, if not better than eli. giants won because of being a better run team, not because of eli.

the trade was eli vs rivers + merriman. there is a clear winner there. rivers + merriman >>> eli. that was the trade. chargers got the better end of the trade.

There is a big difference, no pun intended, between the 80's and now.

if it was like the 80's right now no QB would last a second on the field much less be left alive after a hit/tackle and their career would be over after the first game no matter what protective gear they had on. Or preseason if they played.

    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
