One thing I take from this is Bryce Young is extremely intelligent, has a very likable personality, and is someone anybody could get behind to be the face of their franchise. This is coming from someone who has been a CJ Stroud supporter as I worry about his size but man does Young seem to have the' It" factor that you look for in a leader. You cant help but like the guy! Even myself who has been hoping for Stroud. If Young is the pick I immediately get behind him day one and will be equally as excited based upon what appears to be a great head on his shoulders and an extreme willingness to win which he has done at all levels in his life. He seems very mentally strong and I respect that immensely.

Exactly. He is a day 1 leader who is calm under pressure and comfortable in his own skin. The on-the field material speaks for itself, but the off-field person is a player you want to build your entire franchise around.

Agreed, he seems to have the character and mental acuity that every team searches for in a QB. If this guy was even just 6'1, he would probably be the consensus number 1 by far. Very hard to not like him. Someone like that as a franchise player would most definitely rub off on others around him especially if he turns out to be any good.

If he was 6’1+ we probably wouldn’t have a shot at him

Saving this for the drive home from work. Need it to get through this ATL traffic.

Without listening though, I was a Stroud guy, but a few weeks ago I became a huge fan of this young man. His play speaks for itself, but the other things I’ve heard has me sold. Looking forward to him being the face of the franchise for my favorite/home team.

    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
    • I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking?    I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued.
