CJ Stroud: I’m a football player, not a test taker

Maybe you should ignore such misguided attacks as they are either ill informed or joking.  Young will have to deal with short jokes the rest of his career.  Stroud will probably be label dumb even though it's far from the truth.  Levis will be labeled as a weirdo and Richardson...well I'm not sure what label he well carry but I'm sure there is one. It is what it is.

Thats cool...But you originally said nobody was saying those things and now you are acknowledging that they are. Thats all that needs to be understood.

So if you want to split hairs then I have a few reasonable responses.  Bryce may come in a bit smaller than these guys, making your statement technically true.  However, the spirit of your argument is that small is pretty much a guaranteed bust and that certainly isn't true.  These players span the history of the game as it's evolved, clearly it's possible to get it done quite successfully even if you're smaller than average.

Drew Brees 6' 200lb.

Russel Wilson 5'11" 215lb.

Joe Theismann 6' 192lb

Len Dawson 6' 190lb.

Fran Tarkenton 6' 190lb.

Sonny Jurgensen 5'11" 202lb.

Okay cool my friend, but the poster I responded too basically said in similar stance a bad scored on a test means that a player wont be a good QB in the league because nobody with a bad score ever has. Im just calling out the bad logic in the discussion.

Far as the players you listed, yes they are considered small but you are still overlooking the fact that Bryce is even smaller than all those guys so technically he is still a outlier all of his own and will have to do something never been done before for a player like him. Thats all.

How am I overlooking it, my second sentence is literally stating that he is smaller, I even use the phrasing "technically correct" to assess your take.

Otherwise, I don't disagree with you.  Just gonna have some faith, if the staff can't get this pick right then there may be little hope they would have succeeded with anyone else.

You gotta respect how he doesn’t waste any time peeling Bannanas so he has more time to watch film.

Respectable, but makes him an outlier!  Kentucky QB is also an outlier.

Personally I like his dance moves....

Some of us are "young" enough to remember back to when sports news was limited to weekly/monthly mags. I recall a QB who was labeled as just a little mentally slow. Since then Terry Bradshaw has been riding that horse to the bank every week for forty+ years.

The data also says a QB at 5'10 and barely weights 190 pounds is pretty much guaranteed not to be a success because its literally never been done but we are not gonna run with that now are we??

If it has never been done, the data really doesn't show a damned thing to be honest.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
    • I don’t watch college football anymore (used to be Stanford STH but meh), but my wife is Hawaiian and her favorite color is purple, so I guess I knew Tet was my new favorite player to root for when he came out in a purple suit and lei and threw up the Shaka.
