between the pats, browns, and panthers... i  think panthers are the only ones trending upward.

Why not the Browns? That defense is still tremendous and Watson is going to get a full year this year to show production. They have a very strong oline and arguably the best RB in the league.

Depends on what Hopkins truly thinks of Watson but I could see the Browns being sleeper contenders for this year. And the Patriots are always solid. We are trending up but I think the Browns are more ready now.

The Pats are always solid but I can't see being excited by Mac Jones as a WR.

Yeah I mean if we were interested I'd say we would be second of those three. But there's gotta be more teams... All depends on the asking price.

Because it's the browns.

Likely most people here have been hearing/reading these rumors:

According to the Boston Globe, via JPA Football on Twitter, 2023 is a make-or-break season for Belichick. There are people within his inner circle concerned about his job security as tension grows between him and owner Robert Kraft.

Just as with Brady, a time will come in which it is appropriate to move on from Belichick. A third losing season in four years would cost plenty of head coaches their job; if you add in tensions with the owner, their chances of surviving are even slimmer.

https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/patriots_may_be_considering_drastic_move_regarding_bill_belichick/s1_17150_39019914

Also:

........Adding to the continued narrative regarding the alleged deteriorating relationship between head coach Bill Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft, The Boston Globe's Ben Volin had much to say about the viral image.

But then he began down the rabbit hole of why [Mac] Jones would be invited to an event at Kraft's so early on in his NFL career, especially after a mediocre season and his alleged strained relationship with Belichick.

.....But Jones? Already getting the invite to the Hamptons after two mediocre seasons with the Patriots?"

The relationship between the head coach and quarterback has been widely scrutinized over the last year, with many rumors suggesting that Belichick never wanted to draft Jones in the first place, which created a lot of tension between him and Kraft.

It would explain why there appeared to be continued conflict throughout the 2022 season between Belichick and Jones, on and off the field, and why the coach has seemingly refused to name him the starting quarterback on multiple occasions in recent months.

Volin believes Jones' invite to Kraft's party could indicate the current state of his relationship with Belichick, as he knows more than anyone how he feels about the third-year player continuing as the QB1.

We know the Kraft's have stood by Jones throughout the last two seasons, with a lot of their support coming from his highly critiqued performance in 2022. But we also know that Belichick hasn't shown nearly the same support, making most believe even more they're not all on the same page.

Looks like it might be Bill O'Brien's job to save Belichick's job.  What BB did with the offensive coaching staff last year was insane.

    • Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.
    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
