Firefighters on Tuesday found NFL player Caleb Farley’s father dead in the rubble of a massive, collapsed Lake Norman home owned by the Tennessee Titans cornerback. Deputies first responded to the gas-scented scene at about 12 a.m., Iredell County Emergency Management reported. The $3 million home used to stand near a north Lake Norman cove just past Trump National Golf Club, property records show. At a news conference Tuesday afternoon, county Fire Services and Emergency Management Director Kent Greene said officials are “looking into the issue of natural gas but the investigation is ongoing... It appears to be an accident.”

Caleb Farley was at the scene of the deadly explosion later Tuesday morning and spoke with the fire marshal. His aunt and uncle also were on the scene, according to Greene.

The 6,000-square-foot house was leveled, Greene said, and several cars were also lost.

Caleb Farley, a 24-year-old Maiden native and former Virginia Tech cornerback, has owned the home since May 2022, records show.

Meanwhile, Chris Simms on Sam Howell...

We are where we are as a franchise and I am fine with it.  Albeit it was expensive to get where we are but it is what it is.  But damn deep in my gut it feels like we made a colossal error going corral over Howell or simply not drafting him as well in the 4rth.

What if we had done that but then Reich and company still wanted "their guy" then Howell was way outplaying Bryce? Oh wee mayne. What a poo show that would be. 😂

Looking like I was wrong about howell, anytime you are named the starter is uber rare. *backdoor* I did want to draft howell even after they traded up for correll. But that pick was used to trade up for brandon smith, whom is looking like hes on the cut list. I cannot go back and look at some of the draft threads, ill get sicker..

    • I think in all honestly, the final 2 games are carrying most of the weight in a lot of Bryce talk IMO.    During the window where he "blew it out of the water" window......were a lot of games where he was not above average.  AZ is largely one of those stat sheet games.   Where the stat sheet reflects QB play that didn't exist in the game.  That game was all Chuba.  Meh vs Dallas.  Meh vs Philly.  Meh vs Giants.  Probably average vs Tampa, Den, Saints.  Bryce made HUGE strides vs what he was.  We should be happy.   But when you start comparing him to the rest of the league.....people I think are going too far.  His best aspect in reality.....is his scrambling.  And that's probably not a great thing give his size.
    • Mays and Zavala looked lost in the Reich offense.  Granted Zalava was probably playing too soon due to injuries but he looked terrible.  This new staff seems to be doing well with our OL.  I also wonder if having two vets in Hunt and Lewis just made life that much easier on whoever was/is playing center.
    • What the Panthers should target in order (via free agency or via trade): 1. Julian Blackmon  2. Mike Hilton 3. Jaire Alexander 4. Jalen Ramsey
