It's both. Yes Brady won another without Bill but frankly he went to an absolutely stacked team that went all in in the short term for him and also had a very good coach in Arians. Brady may have never even developed into a franchise QB without Belichick.

I agree with that.

Plus, for both Hoodie and Brady, if Marshawn Lynch gets one more carry and/or Atlanta decides extending the lead back to two scores and draining the Pats of timeouts with 4:00 left and the ball on the Pat 22, the narrative gets a lot different.  The road from 6-3 in Owls to 4-5 is pretty short.  And we haven't even mentioned what happens if Kasey's kickoff does not go out of bounds (and we will never know how that might have ended).

What was arguably their most talented team was shut down by the Giants.

I'm not diminishing where they sit in NFL history, with nine Owl appearances in 18 years and six wins, but those wins are a combination of great game plans, clutch QB performances, some solid defensive performances, buffoonery on the opposing sidelines, a little luck, and some sidestepping the rules.  The tenure alone is impressive in the salary cap era, because there is a lot of retooling involved while maintaining that level of play.

Jay Gruden, who was Washington’s head coach from 2014 to 2019, says that Snyder wouldn’t put in the work necessary to learn how good a player was, but would insist on making decisions in the draft and free agency.

“He wasn’t experienced enough in the business to make those decisions.” Gruden said on Kevin Sheehan’s podcast, via USA Today. “He didn’t put in the work. For him to pick a player in the draft is asinine. He didn’t put the work in. He didn’t watch the players. He didn’t go to the meetings. He didn’t go to the scouts’ meetings.”

Gruden said he doesn’t necessarily object to an owner making those calls, he just wants the owner to know what he’s doing. Before coaching Washington, Gruden spent three seasons as Cincinnati’s offensive coordinator, and he credited Bengals owner Mike Brown for participating in scouting and film study before making any decisions.

“Mike Brown, when I was with the Cincinnati Bengals, sat in meetings, watched the film, put in the work,” Gruden said. “When he made a decision, it was based upon what he saw, what he took in from the coaches and from the scouts. So I respected that. I don’t respect the guy that doesn’t watch the film and comes in, makes the pick, and tells you who he is signing in free agency. It makes no sense when we and the scouts are doing all of the film work, and all of a sudden, he comes in and makes the pick. So, I think it is going to be a very beneficial move for all of the fans and for the organization moving forward.”

They are throwing parties in Washington. Harris buying beer for the partiers.  Big rally for Harris tomorrow. Team employees are rejoicing.

During one of Jay Gruden's interviews today he was asked a question about Snyder and said“I didn’t really talk to him for the last year and a half,”

Snyder is 100% a criminal. This stuff with football probably doesn’t even scratch the surface. His punishment is a check for $6 billion dollars and asked to go away quietly. If you want to see why our society is in the shitter this is a great example.

Watch Washington win the NFC East.

That franchise was cursed under Snyder. Good riddance!

They are in a coin toss for worse coaching in their division, although I probably give the Edge to Dallas, and they dont have a QB. Good luck with that.

Watch them finish last in the NFCE and MoRon gets fired. Then all the talking heads will be going on and on about how good of a coach he is, when in fact he is poo.

    • We've literally seen him hop around the pocket to survey the field in multiple occurrences. Defenses have this on tape. Cam and QB's like him built the way he was height and strength wise could get by on those natural gifts in their prime. Bryce Young is unequivocally going to have to go above and beyond with his footwork in order to carve out not just a long career but an elite career worthy of a top overall draft selection. We should be able to wholeheartedly agree with one another on that. Intermediate sideline throws without placing the ball out of bounds where the receiver has to contort themselves or make an absurd acrobatic catch for it to be a completion. And yes developing a better chemistry in the deep passing game with his receivers to avoid miscues. Both areas will need to see improvement if the young offense is to develop the way we hope in 2025. And we don't necessarily need to be winning mind you. But development of the supporting cast requires this from Bryce. We have invested a ton of capital in the offensive line. We've invested heavily in WR. We've invested in our backfield. We've invested in TE. We've got a young up and coming offensive minded head coach. The expectation should be for our redzone efficiency to improve significantly. That is not just on Bryce Young. But at the end of the day it will always begin and end with him more often than not. It's always been that way and that's just the nature of the position in this league. And not for nothing but before we drafted Bryce Young nobody was going around here saying we need elite play across the board and top shelf coaching for him to be effective. His biggest selling point was his ability to succeed off script and make something out of nothing. We're certainly going to have to see that come to fruition. Now we wait.
    • I said years ago that RBA was another Rivera.
    • Honestly, for me, I actually don't care all that much about being the 1st overall pick and him living up to that selection. It's the trade we made to go get him that he has to live up to for me.   You can't be even just an average starting QB after a trade like that, because if that's all we're getting out of it, we could have kept going with journeyman type of QB's or taken a shot on a Jalen Milroe type in the 2nd to get similar play but then have kept Moore and all those other draft picks to build around them.
