People are acting like I'm gonna start "doom and gloom" threads after the first bad performance, when it's actually the opposite. I guarantee you that the overly hopeful ones are gonna be the first to yell "burn it all down".

you made the mistake of posting thoughts in the "Sam Darnold is going to turn it around and be our franchise QB" window of the offseason.     I mean, this is the window where people would be willing to convince themselves that Matt Rhule taking a long snapper might actually be a genius move. 

You have to tread carefully.

Benjamin Franklin was quoted as saying; "As a pessimist, if something good happens, you are pleasantly surprised. Whereas, as an optimist, when something good happens, it's no big deal because you already thought it would." Sure you can still get excited, but there is just a little less oomph behind it.

I will always be an optimistic, hopeful fan. It's my nature although it was tested by Rhule. @Sgt Schultz, I fully understand. My hockey team is the Buffalo Sabres. Never won a Cup (many years of being last in the NHL), missed the playoffs by 2 points (1 win) this year. Panthers missed the playoffs last year by 1 win. That's how things go in fandoms. I'm not even sure the Panthers end with a winning record this year but that's not the point. The point is that we have a future to look forward to.

Considering the subject of this thread, there may be, or not, joy in this article.

Since 2018, the Carolina Panthers have had three more head coaches than they’ve had playoff wins—and they’ve had three head coaches since 2018.

(Oh, and that’s not even counting their two interim head coaches.)

Nonetheless, a recent study highlighted by BetCarolina.com found that the franchise’s fans are amongst the most obsessive in the entire NFL. Using the results from Statista’s 2022 survey regarding “attitudes” of teams, one that polled 1,239 subjects, the site noted that the Carolina faithful responded rather positively to the following pair of statements:

No. 1: I do not want to imagine my life without my NFL team.

No. 2: My NFL team is part of my day-to-day life.

29 percent of Panthers fans in the study had positive replies to the first statement, which was tied for the second-highest mark, while 23 percent had positive replies to the second. That gave the fanbase an average positive response of 26 percent—the fifth-highest overall.

The only fanbases that have finer rose-colored glasses include those of the Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys.

Ben was wrong. When something good happens for a pessimist they think it won't last and you can't be happy because now something bad will be next. Where an optimist will take a good thing be happy and expect more good things will happen.

If you have to be a pessimist so you don't get disappointed you clearly aren't resilient likely have low frustration tolerance and are emotionally immature.  I am an optimist and find my life is good and I can root for the Panthers and deal with losses or wins with little problem. Part of being an optimist is looking for the positives even in bad situations and choosing your attitude in spite of circumstances. Whereas pessimists stay unhappy and manage to see the negative in every situation.

Then your point was missing the mark from the very beginning. Nothing stops people from being reactionary, especially diehard sports fans.

That guy you responded to is doing the following video. He was the same exact everything is always fine and will work out fan and is now doing the same disgusted fan bit.

      When the panthers are bad, we sell a shockingly low number of jerseys, and options become limited. In the good years, we had a lot of different options. I think T-Mac is going to have to play well on the field for his jersey to get produced in the FUSE template.

      it's not the only way to be a threat, it's certainly important for certain roles in an offense and for certain type players and offenses.  as is the ability to get open quickly and generate easy throws.   as far as Renfrow goes, I have consistently said he is sort of his own thing and not really in comp w/ others here.  It's a niche role/job.  Anyone talking about something else from him isn't me.  Just depends if we want to do what he does and if he can still do it.  as far as AT goes, yeah, he does lower our ceiling given the % of our offense that goes through him and his limitations at this stage in his career.    He should be a roleplayer, much like Renfrow should be if we want to insert what he does into the O....not an O being run through him.    Renfrow isn't going to lower the ceiling if used correctly.  Niche assignments to move chains.   It's like a short yardage RB that comes in to pick a random play.  Renfrow is best at that 3rd and 4 type scenario IMO. AT lowers the ceiling because we build the pass game off an old WR that shouldn't be the focal point of a pass attack.  Not to mention, Bryce Young is practically tailor made to get the ball in the hands of YAC players.   So you need those type on the field.
