They always do. I’m not sure if I’ve shared this before, but if any of you guys remember there was a 3 year old boy a few years back who they had do the official 53 roster announcement. They made a video and it went kinda viral on Twitter and YouTube and all that. Well that kid was my son Mason, who is now 7. He really did memorize the entire team. We went to FanFest and he was hooked. Well anyways they brought us in and treated us First Class the whole time. It was a great experience for us and my son, and something we still talk about and look back at fondly today as he’s 7 now, and we have another little 3 year old boy. Good freaking times.

Here’s the video btw

That was awesome man! Your son is adorable too.

Miami/Jacksonville are our toughest matchups.

Anyone who thinks playoffs are unrealistic needs to looks at that schedule again.

We dodged most of the sure L teams like Chiefs/Bills/Bengals/Eagles/49ers.

We definitely got one of the easiest schedules of the league.

Yeah our SOS is like top 6. This is our year to make some noise.

This was hilarious.

Yeah not the greatest flex on your fan support. Assuming Nashville is kinda like LA in the sense that nobody really gives a poo about sports. Pretty sure theres like 10 bachelorette parties a day there

Can someone explain why the Lions are playing the Chiefs on opening night?

Crazy the hype they get. We beat them with Sam Darnold last year.

Big city/media market with historically terrible results. Just trying to squeeze money from those fans while they have hope.

thats cool but just know you are in the extreme minority of folks who think they had a bad draft

I’ve seen plenty of C grades for their draft if you want to go by the media. I’d put them at a D personally. Second, and again this is if you want to go by the media, Wright, Dexter, and Pickens were all big reaches based on consensus big boards. Especially Wright being the second tackle off the board ahead of Skoronski and Jones, pretty much everybody had him rated behind those guys. So they passed on a media consensus top 5 player (Carter) to take a consensus 20-25ish ranked prospect at 10 overall ahead of 2 guys at his position that the media consensus had ranked above him. Looking at both the NFL Mock Draft Database Consensus and the Pro Football Network Industry Consensus for reference.

Dexter was a consensus 3rd round grade that they took like 20 spots too soon with one analyst saying he had the worst get off he had EVER seen from a DT. And again, they could have had the top 3 tech in the draft at 9.

So what changed? Why would the Bears be getting good grades for drafting these guys when the media consensus pre draft would have said these were reaches?

I think there’s a pretty large push from the media to make the Bears relevant again, and a big narrative push for Poles being some amazing GM. If you didn’t notice the media shift in how DJ Moore was viewed as a WR the second he was traded to the Bears, I can’t help you.

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
