I’ve never understood why defensive head coaches, especially rookies, hire first time OC’s.

Stroud looked awful, from not playing the starting Oline, to looking like he had no coaching beforehand, wtf are the Texans coaching staff doing?

I think the Texans are just gonna Texan. They seem destined to fug up. And yes, I know those are some pretty big rocks I'm chucking around inside this Panthers fandom glass house. 😂

I saw a couple of shots on twitter, and in one he starred the guy down, in the other he was super later to a hole in the zone.

The big knock on him was being able to process the information on the field.  Did he throw with any touch, timing or anticipation?  CJ has the tools to be a great QB, and I was all for him before we traded up to 1.  I don't want to see him fail (if for no other reason to be a successful OSU QB just so people stop making that argument).  He also seems like a nice kid (like most rookies) so you root for them.

Houston should not have him start if he's not ready.  You'll ruin him.  Look, let Davis Mills start until things slow down for CJ.  In those two shots, he looked like a deer in the headlights.

I completely agree he needs time to sit back and learn. He really needs time to see the game study from the sideline it takes a qb time especially one who doesn’t process things as quickly as per say Bryce.

Yeah, the pick was dumb, but why were they running a 15 yard comeback route on 3rd and 20 something? Tank coulda just kept going on a go route and beat that CB yolo it's preseason

A risk I didn't anticipate when they didn't put Stroud back in... that Mills would actually look really good.

9/12 for 99 yards and a TD.

He has 26 starts under his belt already. I had no clue he had played that much football.

Yeah rookie D-minded HC, rookie OC, and a rookie QB learning behind Mills and Keenum was not that well thought out.

remember the Texans earned the secon pick in the draft...if Withers had coached from day one last year we probably would have won the division.

We're in a lot better shaped than Houston....particularly on OL

I am gonna guess Withers was computer spelled, and yeah, Stroud is with the team that Lovie screwed out of the first pick.

They are a legit trainwreck of a team and have a very young first time head coach who has a lot of seasoning to absorb.
Anyone coming to Carolina was ahead in the rebuilding and coaching up game by a major margin.

Not before Rhule was fired. If Rhule had control of Bryce Young, I think we would be in deep water.  There is a whole different vibe now  since Reich got here that I cannot describe.

    • That's mostly me. I came into the season basically believing he was not ever going to be the guy but with a little bit of wait and see. It didn't take long of me seeing before I saw he was the same guy he has largely always been. Maybe in some future scenario 3-5 years from now he is confident enough to be a decent NFL QB. I don't really want to be the team waiting for that to happen. Let his 3rd, 4th, 5th or whatever team be the ones that figure it out.
    • Naw let him get to Tampa and crack his old fragile body with Radsom or Trey M I’d love to see him get rocked by this raw defense. He’s a fool thinking he would leave us for greener pastures I’m glad it played out this way should’ve stayed loyal to the ones who really wanted you.
    • And a legitimate question to ask is what does this offense look like once Bryce is off his rookie contract? How is that offensive line going to look? We have a ton of money invested up front and that is 100% unsustainable with Bryce making starting QB money. Icky and Moton are going to be 50m per season plus the guards at 32 and possibly Mays at 6-8 if we're lucky. Add in Bryce and that's 125m just on those 6 players if we tried to keep them all. It's just not doable.  So then the real question IMO becomes, if we spent the money on our OL, and less on a QB, would the outcome be that much different? I haven't seen Bryce elevate the offense enough by himself on a consistent basis to warrant the contract we would have to give him, not to mention the players we would have to give up, based on the accelerations of the bonuses as I understand them, would likely include Icky.
