Good find.

Struck by a couple of things watching that, first being Rhule's mention that Dan Morgan was convicted on Corral "at one time". I'd be interested to know if that meant he came off of it.

When the call from New England comes in asking if we're interested, Fitterer starts saying "let's see what happens here" but Rhule interrupts with "that's a yes".

Just prior to that, you can hear Rhule talking about how patient they've been so far, but not sounding particularly patient himself at the time. And then of course you have Tepper joining in.

Also did find it funny that it was Rhule on the phone with New England Rather than Fitterer or Morgan.

Possible. l wasn't as certain because Fitterer has kind of a blank, hard to read face (pretty decent poker face) but yeah, I could see it.

on one hand, you have a meddling and impatient owner telling you what to do and how to build a team

on the other hand, you have a lame duck and desperate incompetent high school coach cosplaying as an NFL head coach with total roster and draft control telling you what to do and how to build a team

Watch the video of Rhule and Fitts talking about the Corral trade and pick.

Rhule couldn't care less. It just seems really obvious he had no desire not just for Corral, but a rookie QB period. Seems like Fitts convinced him that they had to take a QB and Rhule was probably like well fine then, this guy and Fitts was likely high on Corral too so it worked out. Well, it didn't work out but they were in agreement. Maybe it was McAdoo banging the table for Corral but I'm not sure how much sway he had in the room. McAdoo just seemed like someone that was forced onto Rhule that Rhule never really wanted to begin with. Tepper probably told him to get some real NFL experience on his staff and he came up with McAdoo and Wilks.

I dunno, seemed like Rhule and Tepper were all in on getting Corral.

Why the fug are they talking about him then, why the fug didnt they have a draft board and simply stick by it?  And why the fug are first year OC giving this type of input during the motherfuging draft?  Goddamn what a clown show.   This feels like a drunken conversation my fantasy partner and I had this past Sat night.

Are we sure that was a Fitt pick?

I think Rhule made that pick.

Well, if he was a Matt Rhule dude….he drafted him and immediately gave him the red headed step child treatment and gave him essentially no work/reps in camp.

The behind the scenes stuff is gonna be way more telling than the pressers. Publicly, every team always gets everybody they were targeting and they're all thrilled.

The one aspect I agree with is that it was always obvious Rhule preferred a veteran while Fitterer wanted a draft pick. My guess would be Tepper ruled on that particular discussion, but once it got to draft day and it was time to pick, Rhule pretty clearly got impatient.

And of course afterward, he got Mayfield so Corral went to the back of the line.

Even if that was true, the UNC fans weren’t saying it out of objectivity - they were saying it out of bias.

anyways, not a corral defender. Glad he’s gone. Also glad we have Bryce.

But if a UNC fan was being objective about a UNC player in his or her honest estimation, you would call it bias.  That puts the bias on you, not the UNC fan.
