I think a lot of folks don't recall Manning in his prime because of how diminished he was at the end.

Manning in his prime didn’t have a cannon..

There was a reason some scouts liked Ryan Leaf more Then Peyton in that draft because Leaf had the cannon and more Physical upside..  Peyton had a above avg arm super intelligence and accurate as hell.. Sorta like hmmmmmm

Read. I said his arm wasn't elite, it was good. Bryce's arm is average. Peyton's arm in his prime was better than what I've seen out of Bryce. Bryce's arm is in the Mac Jones range.

Well that’s where we disagree I put BY in the good arm category and guys like Ridder, Heinkie,  Brook Purdy in the avg. category..

not avg

I was reading his draft profile when I saw the good not great arm strength.

Also mentioned was his velocity not being good.

While athleticism has never been Manning's calling card, he's proven that waffling throws and lack of mobility were no obstacles at all. The ball velocity question seems laughable now, but back in the day it really did pale in comparison to Leaf's cannon shots down the field.

Here is one for Brady

Negatives: Poor build. Very skinny and narrow. Ended the '99 season weighing 195 pounds and still looks like a rail at 211. Looks a little frail and lacks great physical stature and strength. Can get pushed down more easily than you'd like. Lacks mobility and ability to avoid the rush. Lacks a really strong arm. Can't drive the ball down the field and does not throw a really tight spiral. System-type player who can get exposed if he must ad-lib and do things on his own.

Yeah, Manning's arm was good, not elite.

Brady's arm seemed to get notably stronger over the course of his career.

Last playoff appearance was in 2017 so we are in year 6 of a drought

Let's say hypothetically this gamble doesn't pay off, you have to give Bryce what, 3 seasons? And after that is it a reboot once again?

That would make what, a decade before meaningful Panthers football?

Now I can see why the Browns gave up the farm to get Watson or the Bengals did everything they could to resign Burrow

How will we know if Bryce is a bust or not when he has that group of wide receivers?

Yeah he lack of elite arm strength and athletic ability is why teams were split over him and Leaf.  There were mentions of him being at his ceiling and overachieving.  Young can zip it when he wants.  I don't see an NFL throw that he can't make.  Regardless if there is a difference it's small (good in the NFL vs average) not at the top of the league and not at the bottom.  Both are somewhere in the middle.

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
