We should’ve just run it back with Wilks, Darnold, and DJ

Question, would we still have traded up for Bryce Young?  If so, nothing changes.

I actually think after what Wilks saw with Rosen in Arizona, he would’ve let Bryce sit a while. I could be wrong, but Wilks had experience with throwing a rookie to the wolves.

The hell with Wilks I'm not even sure if this guy was a upgrade over Rhule.lmao

Counting preseason we haven't won a single game since we hired him.

Like this dude is a walking L.

You mean Frank Reich, right? Wilks was a huge upgrade over Rhule.

Yeah, sitting the #1 overall pick would have not gone over well.  While I agree with sitting Young, 99% of the fan base would not.

Good point. If Wilks had the luxury of having a better QB in Arizona, he could very well still be coaching that team.

Sam Howell is looking like a pro bowl level QB and he's a glorified Darnold.

Wilks would have us in a good spot right now. But we're here now. Welcome to obscurity, folks.

Wasn’t Howell available when we selected Corral? If so…big fuggin yikes.

I think that shows that something is wrong with our ability to properly evaluate college talent and/or put them in position to succeed in the NFL.

We moved up in the 3rd to get Corrall. Howell wasn't taken into the 4th round by Washington. The deals for Darnold, CJ Henderson were bad. We draft players who make no impact on the field. We need better performance from the GM. This team is going nowhere with Fitterer in charge.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
