We threw a lot of screens, Chargers threw a lot of screens. I dont know how that isnt true? Reich was specifically asked about the screen game...

Chargers LOS passes: 13
Panthers LOS passes: 14

The Chargers also threw 50% more passes. They also had a 10-17 point lead from the mid 2nd to the last few minutes. We had a 10 point lead for 5 minutes and lost our game. It’s not surprising that the Chargers weren’t going downfield a ton. It’s surprising that we didn’t at all.

I just don't see the Niners winning the SB with Purdy. He's a solid game manager and they can make that work given their immense talent across the roster and a great offensive mind in Shanahan, but ultimately I think it will be the hurdle they can't overcome.

Purdy has good to excellent stats in several categories. He's becoming not only a reason why they don't lose, but a reason why they win, as pointed by Unsportsmanlike this morning.

Exactly. Six attempts 20+ yards versus zero. The threat is everything. Especially when the threat is highly effective going 4/6 on those attempts.

The one ball Bryce threw over 20 yards that isn't reflected in the passing chart was a DPI on a badly underthrown ball to a receiver that was grabbed and slowed down. If a receiver is grabbed and slowed it should result in what appears to be an overthrow, definitely not a ball that is still badly underthrown.

I'm not in the habit of defending BY anymore. Not until he at least attempts more deep passes, but that underthrown ball may have been the result of a bad route. The announcers thought it should have been a double move but he just ran a fly. That would throw off the timing. I mean, Bryce can at least throw the ball 50 yards. Heck his early issue was overthrowing the deep ball.

Baker wouldn’t be terrible in our offense this year. It’s what he’s used to. Problem is, he couldn’t grasp the timing on what Wilks and Mcadoo changed the offense into.

His first couple of weeks, Rhule was trying what Frank is doing now but it was even poorly designed.

    • Why does analyzing the motivations and thought process of a failed draft, and coming up with a viewpoint that is different from yours, or anyone’s, have to equal shoe shining? There is a box and it is okay to venture outside of it. Not a shoebox lol. A thinking outside the box  And the box in this case is a prejudice against Fitterer and his subordinates. For one thing. Also an attitude that it was business as usual for the 2024 draft, and it really wasn’t some damned all hands on deck Chinese fire drill trying to cover Tepper’s butt. Fail at your peril.  It is hard for me to understand that being an unrealistic scenario. And yeah I want Morgan to succeed but it isn’t a blank check. Let him do something like trade the 2027 1st round pick for a lightweight edge rusher… see what you hear out of me about that.
    • I get it but it was still the wrong approach. Need a pass catching back, get one in FA. They're out there. Fill the holes that got you to a 2-15 record with starting caliber draft picks. Just about everything that has been done over the past 3 years has been to prop up Bryce and he still barely got to 3k yards. Part of why I'm still not sold on Dan. Just some really questionable at best team building strategies. The draft results this year were better, but overall, at the end of the season, I don't know that the team is really that much better from when he started. We were a 6 win team that got lucky GB couldn't score on 6 trips into the RZ and the Jets were a train wreck. 16 and 13 point offensive outputs aren't going to usually result in wins.
    • I loved his approach to cap he'll Hurney left us with. He also called time on a couple guys who were aging out of their contract wants.  That was the good.  The rest, he was just an ass and nobody wanted to see shorts hiked up that high on him ever. They're shorts, not a bra. Thank God one of the twins didn't fall out for the world to see.
