I can only guess but it really looks to me like he's questioning his physical ability to play the game at this level. You see other young QBs struggle but they keep their confidence. They make enough plays and throw enough tough passes to give themselves the confidence that yeah, with more work and more experience I have what it takes to do this. I just don't think Bryce is having enough of those moments. His audibles aren't working. He's really struggling throwing beyond 10 yards downfield. When he tries to scramble and buy time like he did. In college he's getting chased down more often than not. I really think it's for him rattled and second guessing everything.

No Tf he’s not. Come on man, you should be above this.

Which reminds me…why wasn’t that route for Hurst? I’m over Thomas being forced into a role he hasn’t shown to be good at.

Hurst is no Olsen, but he catches that ball.

Damned good question.

I'm tired of coaches that just don't know what the fug they are doing.

AR has 7 tds, Stroud has 6 and BY has 2, oh, and AR has missed a game. sure, it’s not all Young’s fault, but the other guys don’t have much help either and they are making plays.

They do have better help than advertised, and we arguably have worse, but the true distinction lies within the coaching and putting players into a position to succeed. You have to believe in your QB and let him loose. Reich is doing anything but.

Nico Collins and robert woods don’t strike fear in the hearts of defense. Same for Downs and Pittman. Colts fans were complaining how bad their OL was last year and top that off with no JTaylor, ARs help isn’t great. Stroud was on his third string OL Sunday and a couple other players and he still went off.

I'm not even gonna go into AR right now, because he's a running QB, and I personally don't want a QB whose claim to fame is running, and whose passing is sketchy. Maybe if he turns into an effective passer like Josh Allen, I'll change my mind (but that ain't today). But, you're absolutely right about his O-line. Pittman and Downs are talented. Downs would probably be amazing with Bryce in this snooze-fest of a Reich offense.

Not sure how you're going to downplay Collins considering his numbers this year. Yeah, and OC can overlook him at their own risk. Tank Dell isn't chopped liver either. Robert Woods is simply a good safety valve, as is Dalton Schultz. If you want to see a local review of what happened against the Steelers, here you go

Granted, Stroud seems to be the real deal, but even he wouldn't look like he does if he had to deal with what Bryce has had to put up with.

We certainly had running the play clock down to 0 on each play perfected

see this is bad coaching though.  you see this all the time.  that's on the staff.   another reason why Frank shouldn't call games.  dude is lost in his poo playcalling.  Frank botching all kinds of basics too.  Saw that Sunday.   Bryce hasn't been good.  It's tough to argue there is any evidence this staff is able to help this kid out.

I think they need to install a slow no huddle.   Cam thrived in it.  You can run Frank's simplistic game out of that. QB gets to the line early.  Call ready.  Plenty of time to relax, check out the landscape, time is on your side.

Stubborn Reich. Hes not giving Bryce the playbook Dalton had

If he could throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field with some accuracy, then Frank might. Every ball I've seen him throw more than 10 yards is behind the receiver or high. I thought he had touch when throwing the ball. Maybe this is where the break down of the line is the cause of him not having time, but most say he is 2nd most for hanging on to the ball instead of getting rid of it quickly.

Bryce is taking way too much hate from this fanbase. That energy should be directed elsewhere.

Tepper, Fitt, Reich.

Until those 3 are out of the equation (I know, Tepper will never be) - it doesn't matter who is at QB for this team. Baker is cooking down in Tampa right now and looked absolutely horrible last year.

newflash: we have an organizational issue, not a quarterback issue

This

It don't matter who is at QB with this offensive scheme, the results will be the same, which is a loss. Its a no room for error scheme.

    • So we are all supposed to bow now? Or can we wait until after the season?  The fear is not that he would prove me wrong, it is that the people in charge are fooled again and accept subpar results as enough progress to make a new commitment. And of course, we get the same start to next year as this year and the previous two years.  I am not afraid to be wrong. I have consistently said let’s let these games play out.    I am just unwilling to accept one or two nice games a year or three or four and the rest working around him like we have to do, as proof of success.  IOW I am afraid you are wrong to crown him, the FO will be wrong, etc… And screw you too calling people miserable old fugs.
    • Maybe it depends on how the logo is tweaked.   Kinda looks college-ish    (yes, this is official NFL merch)
    • Okay, whatever. Some people can't resist taking a crap in another man's cleats. Even after the guy set the new franchise record for passing yards in a game, won that game and won it against our division rivals. Yeah, he's still a frog, warts and all. A lot of you are tired of kissing him. A lot of you just keep seeing the frog and want it gone, for your own good reasons. Truth is, though, the franchise is going to keep kissing this frog in hopes of finding a prince through the rest of this season, no matter what happens. We've got Andy Dalton on the bench, just keeping it from flying up in the air and basically no one on the active roster behind him. We have the veritable murderer's row of opponents coming up, including half of the game vs division opponents, including two versus the division leading Bucs. There's really not an easy game ahead of us unless New Orleans decides to pack it in early and just phone in a contractual obligated effort. The only way, the EFFING ONLY WAY, Bryce comes out of this turning into the prince is if he wins four or more of these games and somehow gets the team into the playoffs. And you can read it here, there are a lot of people here who are actually afraid of that because they could be proven wrong about him, that we could be saddled with a QB they don't like because of it.  They'd fuging rather lose games and shorten the season to see Bryce fail, even if it means their team fails. Man, that's fuged up.  Root for the team or go the fug on. If that means you've got to pull for the little guy in the fight, then you  do. Hell, the odds are certainly stacked against him. But it sure would be nice if we hit a patch of magic after years of futility. But you guys would crap on that, too. Miserable old fugs.
