Could you let us know your speculations? Even if it’s not concrete it will be fun to discuss.

I’ve heard Hollywood Brown and/or Van Jefferson because of coaching staff’s familiarity and ability to get them up to speed quickly. Don’t really see Davante or Tee as realistic because they’re not gonna give up another one. Although wouldn’t be surprised to see a push for Higgins in free agency

Very interesting, so the team views Van Jefferson and Hollywood Brown as “top tier”?

i know you’re speculating, I’m just using the term from that video the other day.

If they can get Burrow's leg right I would expect them to hang onto Higgins and take their 3rd round comp pick when he leaves via FA. If it looks like Burrow is going to be limited all year or limited for long enough to put them out of playoff contention at some point they should bite the bullet and trade him for more than a late 3rd comp pick.

I get it, it's loudly announcing that you're waving the white flag on the season but at some point you just have to make the smart move.

Jefferson could be had for pretty cheap I'd imagine especially with Kupp coming back and their rookie playing go great.  He is definitely not a WR1, but he is a capable WR that can help take some pressure off AT.  Roll with VJ, AT, and Mingo this year while making a push for Higgins in the offseason would work for me.

On one hand this post makes me furious. On the other hand, that’s about the best we can hope for.

Fitt is garbage!

Yeah. It is a pretty horrible trade after what we turned down last year all things considered. Vann Jefferson isn't going to magically solve our WR issue, and Burns would then need to be replaced.

Van Jefferson is what, the Rams #4 right now? lol.  That's totally in line with Fitt and the Panthers.   BIG TIME WR.

I mean, he is a fine player for what he is.  But he doesn't match the talk.  Just like Sanders, Hurst, and everyone else didn't fit the box they claimed they were here to occupy.

He will help.  2 solid WRs in AT and VJ plus Mingo developing is much better than what we have.  I'm thinking it might be a mid/late conditional pick for VJ if we do that.  Maybe a 4th/5th that can become a 3rd/4th based on performance?

Yeah I would be fine with a late round conditional on him. I'd rather not deal Burns and just net a first and him though.

Yeah I would prefer more than a 1st and VJ in return.  We do need to flip Burns and get a first plus some back though.

So in essence a single piece of info was presented and it turns out the bets never really happened and you and your buddy actually just discussed the improbability of a team going undefeated? Cool 50 year old anecdote

Under your name it says "Rookie." You should keep that one. First, you had time to do the math. Now, this response. Get a life.

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
